Me and DD of a similar age regularly buy food / drinks / chat to the homeless as we live in a large city. Hot drink and a feeling that someone cares whether they are dead or alive has to help surely! Empathy in caring for another human being whose literally freezing to death at this time of year is no bad thing, and a good quality to instil in your daughter, sadly it’s a reality of life so she will come across it at some point! Well do OP.
