I know a lot are there as they were requested, but there just seems to be an awful lot.
I have seen a couple of people asking where to post things recently, and I often have trouble locating where topics are even though I know they exist!

It isn't about being able to hide things you don't want to see, it's more about finding them in the first place.

it's things like the "products" sub-topic which is under the "Other Stuff" topic. Then we also have a Products main topic, with many sub-topics- just seems so unnecessary???

I wondered if there was a reason for it? does it help with searches and stuff?

I've been trying to pretend to be a newbie to see if it's really hard to us, or oif it just looks like it would be, but it's hard to tell because I already know where stuff ought to go...

too many. I don't mind the topics, its the sub topics. Like products and the a section for pushchairs/baby monitors ...

yeah, that's what i was thinking too. but then as i was posting this i wondered if there is a reason for it.... hmmm

there are many many topics

I am struck by how few posts there are sometimes on Behaviour/Development and Parenting, given that (I imagined), that's what attracts lots of people to MN in the first place. So are new people just not finding those Topics ?

WhatDoFlamesDoTheseDays · 14/04/2010 21:58

i chuck everything in chat and other subjects

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 21:58

i think maybe so. and I think there is a lot of overlap too. so sleep problems could be discussed in sleep, or behaviour and development, or parenting... so it's hard to know which to choose and then people end up going for just "other subjects" because they aren't sure maybe?

yes, or AIBU, and then they are really in trouble ....

I shall now start looking in Other Subjects

MerlinsBeard · 14/04/2010 22:01

Are there any other subjects left after you have been thru every possible place?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/04/2010 22:04

Well, I just had my first foray on Other Subjects. Very nice.

thisisyesterday · 14/04/2010 22:30

maybe we should only have "other subjects"

i think it covers pretty much everything
