Why has this thread gone bold?

BertieBotts · 06/04/2010 11:02

About halfway down this thread (I don't have pages on) everything goes bold, what has happened? It starts from the post immediately following the deleted BBC post.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sleep/921822-Co-sleeping-support-thread

Also, I can't post again in Google Chrome. It's happened before and another MNer suggested it might be the browser as it had happened to her on another site. But just wanted to make you aware again.

Doing it on this thread too:

It's doing that for me too, and a lot of topics I had blocked have appeared.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/04/2010 11:36

links are all to pot too

YMT been at the scrumpy again?

ToccataAndFudge · 06/04/2010 11:38

I'm Google Chrome and it's working fine for me posting - but the bold is very odd

PacificDogwood · 06/04/2010 11:39

All threads are bold here. I seem to be able to post ok.

Using internet explorer 8.

aristocat · 06/04/2010 11:52

yes, happening to me too

DuelingFanjo · 06/04/2010 12:25

is happening to me too.

AnAngelWithin · 06/04/2010 12:30

doing it on the due in may thread too....

NumptyMum · 06/04/2010 12:36

Does it on the cupcakes thread too - plus the links don't work when I click on them!

test

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 06/04/2010 12:44

Hmm, ok, that's not it. I thought I saw an unclosed html tag in one of the threads.

it's happening to me too - happens after someone has used bold in a post, several posts back from the end, then everything is bold from then on. Most strange.

Don't like it!

BlackYellowRed · 06/04/2010 13:07

On Safari on a Mac here and doing it too.

BitOfFun · 06/04/2010 13:11

Only the Penis thread is bold for me. Typical.

thumbchick · 06/04/2010 13:11

odder and odder - a thread it happened on a few minutes ago has now gone back to normal - but another thread I am on is still part-bolding (the tea room thread in one child families)

I'm using IE 8 as well; haven't clicked on any links to check if they work but I can post on all threads, bolded or not.

paisleyleaf · 06/04/2010 13:12

Have tried actually looking at any of the other threads though BOF?

uglymugly · 06/04/2010 13:31

There appear to be some s appearing in random places.

When I click on the links BertieBotts has given, they don't go direct to those threads because there's a in the URL.

On the threads where it's gone unexpectedly bold, there is a random in the html. Viewing the page source of the cupcake thread, BelleDame's post reads: Cream < i >then< /i > jam...< br >< br >< strong >EasterEggHunter< /s< wbr > trong >

uglymugly · 06/04/2010 13:34

I hit Post instead of reviewing. I put spaces into the html tags so I didn't get bold or italics.

The effect of the < wbr > in the "< /s< wbr > trong>" sequence stops the < strong > tag from being closed.

I've found similar instances of < wbr > in other threads.

GeraldineMumsnet · 06/04/2010 13:47

Thanks for telling us that - tech will be put on tea duty for the rest of the day!

He promises to fix it all at 3pm (busy till then).

GeraldineMumsnet · 06/04/2010 15:16

Should all be OK now
