Really not liking the biscuit, now...

Are we stuck with it now? I actually find it pretty offensive. Fair enough if someone posts something contentious and ridiculous but when it's a facile thread about clothes, do we really need to option to say 'I don't give a flying guinea pig'?

surely it's less work simply not to post rather than insult people

It upsets me a bit.

anyone else?

Agreed. It's the emoticon for "whatever".

SpawnChorus · 19/03/2010 14:37

I agree. I don't like the confused face either though, so I maybe a smiley puritan.

teasle · 19/03/2010 14:38

I have wondered why there was a picture for 'no comment', as surely if you didn't have a comment you wouldn't post? I think it's a bit daft too.

SpawnChorus · 19/03/2010 14:38

oops: may be

sausagepastie · 19/03/2010 14:49

sausagepastie · 19/03/2010 14:57

dear me

mn drowning in a sea of jammy dodgers

I dunno though, parp and 4 have been around for ages, but with well rationed usage.

maybe people are just getting a little frisson of pleasure by making a little picture of a biscuit appear on their computers. Like the first time you discover paint thing in accessories on your computer and you spend ages drawing squiggly lines and filling them in with zany colours using the paint pot cursor.

I'm sure the biscuit will peeter out to a normal level soon.

cyteen · 19/03/2010 15:03

I love the biscuit, and the face. Confused face is rubbish though, would be happy to see that disappear.

Smiley wars happen on every board.

Biscuit
BecauseImWorthIt · 19/03/2010 15:05

Sorry - couldn't resist!

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/03/2010 15:08

I think the biscuit has its place.

Sometimes you read an op and, without being mean or dismissive, you just think "thats all a bit of a fuss about nothing" - hence biscuit. And it might not do posters any harm, sometimes, to see that other people are not bothered/worked up/saddened/offended by whatever it is, so they may look again at their issue with fresh eyes.

Or summat like that.
