Can I be a right royal pita and ask someone to summarise reasons AGAINST separate sex topic put forward by mnhq?

I wasn't in on the recent discussion.

I know there was a mahoosive thread.

Just wondered if anyone could very kindly summarise for me?

Tia.

Reasons for:
It's talked about everywhere on MN anyway, and can intrude onto Topics where people really don't want to read about fisting or whatever. So better to corral it into the one place.
We're all adults, we all have sex, so what's the problem?

Reasons against:
Every weirdo pervert on the interweb will swarm towards Mumsnet like moths to a flame, and get their vicarious thrills by reading our Friday night discussions. We will be like a magnet for nutters.
There was something about walnuts but I've forgotten what.

i don't really see the need for a separate sex topic, i mean if you don't like the thread you can just hide it no?

Northernlurker · 24/02/2010 21:04

I don't think you can put sex in a seperate box and keep it out of everywhere else can you?
Sex is part of relationships, health, having babies, not having babies, travel (especially camping I believe ), books, tv - you name it.

Personally I've never accidentally fallen in to a thread about fisting and sex itself is not a grubby thing some nice mothers don't like to talk about.

This is a website for parents, parents have sex. As long as people avoid outright porn in their thread titles I'm happy with the staus quo.

Many thanks for replies.

It was the arguments against from mnhq I was really interested in - thank you Hassled.
