"Johnnie bounds into the room, fizzing with energy and presence, a 6ft pocket rocket of sturdy athleticism, his burnt-orange hair launching out of the crown of his head like a cockatoo. "

"If Cameron, Brown and Clegg are so desperate to win over the Boden-obsessed Mumsnetters this May (pollsters say 40% are still undecided), perhaps they should talk to Johnnie."

Because we all base our political leanings on fashion, don't we? Johnnie reckons we should be wearing polka dot tights, ergo we vote Lib Dem. Or something.

What a load of shite.

Bonsoir · 14/02/2010 20:27

LOL OP

Quelle coincidence....

Bobbiewickham · 14/02/2010 20:28

I've started a thread on this!

It really peed me off for some reason.

I think Johnnie thinks we should have our fannies removed after we have had our last child.

"we don't do cleavage" indeed.

Fruitysunshine · 14/02/2010 20:29

I don't like that style of clothing and totally get where the author is coming from.

This boden / MN in politics is getting rathe r dull now

Hassled · 14/02/2010 20:30

OK I've read it now. Johnnie dresses Brown so he looks "normal", then we vote for Brown. Because that's exactly how our minds work. We are all quite that shallow.

ForestFire · 14/02/2010 20:31

you see when tehre is a mn hoo ha everyone moans about it but secretly LOVE it

ForestFire · 14/02/2010 20:36

i did after saying id do rod liddle on the rahter earnest " dont let his man bigot be editor of a paper no one reads " thread.

OP posts:
Bobbiewickham · 14/02/2010 20:38

You'd do Rod Liddle?

I'd have to be under general anaesthetic...actually, make that dead.

Even if he was wearing an "Italian Stallion" shirt

ForestFire · 14/02/2010 20:39

no that is why
i haev no plans regarding myself and Mr lidle although i think he would find me hard to resist.
but in an effort to debunk the thread, i said it.
and i am sullied.

OP posts:
Bobbiewickham · 14/02/2010 20:42

You are, I'm afraid.

I'll always picture you in a boyfriend blazer, being breathed over by a sweating Liddle.

Ah, but if the only other option was Johnnie, and you had to choose one or you died...

would it be the pocket rocket, or the Liddle?

BelleDameSansMerci · 14/02/2010 20:54

Is this a Gerald Ratner type of remark or did I misconstrue?

?They lose it, mothers, don?t they?? says Johnnie quietly. ?And that is why we try and speak to them quite directly. Because they just completely lose it.?

I don't do Boden although I did quite like some of the stuff in the unsolicited catalogue I received a week or so ago. I was worried that I liked it. I think I'll pass!

ForestFire · 14/02/2010 20:56

I wondered what he meant by that comment.

If I was feeling charitable, I would say he meant confidence, and the article was sneakily worded to make him look a bit bad.

But I'm not, so I'll just say...

Johnnie Boden, for example, is a twat.
