Are you using IE?

If so check under 'view' and make sure your text size and zoom are set to normal parameters.

Sure you can do similar on other browsers.

I have a little magnifying glass bottom right of the screen set at 100% - but I sometimes catch it and make my screen look stupid.

hellymelly · 26/01/2010 15:56

am not using IE,using firefox,I found the magnifier thingy but it isn't that, that just makes it huge.it is like being Alice in Wonderland!am going to try various things at the top of the page..

Are you using a mac?

DrivenToDistraction · 26/01/2010 15:58

Sorry, didn't mean to post so soon!

If you are on a mac you can adust the size of a site by pressing the key to the left of the space bar together with the + or the -...

No not on a mac. It's a new computer, but only Mumsnet is tiny,so it must be something on the site? I have logged out and in again etc,but it is still tiny.

CAPITALS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOU TO READ...

ON A MAC IT IS FOR INDIVIDUAL SITES THAT YOU ADJUST THE SIZE. MAYBE YOUR NEW COMPUTER HAS A SIMILAR FUNCTION. MAYBE TRY THE HANDBOOK OR RING THEIR TECH SUPPORT?

RustyBear · 26/01/2010 16:06

Firefox saves the last zoom setting you used for a particular website, so if you managed to change the zoom while on MN it will always go back to that setting for MN,but not for anything else.

Try holding down the Ctrl key & the + key until it looks right, it should then keep the setting.

rusty bear! ypou have solved it! thanks so much,I am restored to normal service. x

Can I have half a point for telling you to check your zoom settings?

HelenMumsnet · 26/01/2010 17:22

Glad to see it's sorted! (thanks, RustyBear)
