I have recently put firefox on this pc and since then MN just doesn't remember me (and yes I am asking it to!). It used to work fine with explorer so what am I doing wrong? (Oh and just to make it more confusing I have been using firefox on my laptop for ages with absolutely no problem ). I have forgotten to do something haven't I - go on tell me!

The Will and the Word, Polgara - have you forgotten everything your father and I taught you?

HelenMumsnet · 20/01/2010 16:02

Hello Poledra.

How annoying!

Are you ticking the Keep me Logged in box when you first Log In?

GoWithIt · 20/01/2010 16:05

This happens to me too. I thought I was just being stupid. I too select to stay logged in, but it doesn't work.

chocolaterabbit · 20/01/2010 16:06

Me too but I'm using internet explorer. Is it a virus software thing?

GoWithIt · 20/01/2010 16:08

It's the same with Facebook, too. I don't know if you're finding the same? It may not be related.

Poledra · 20/01/2010 16:12

Psst, Helen, 'tisn't me that's having the problem (I use Firefox on my laptop and it's fiiiiiiiiine), it's my daughter, Polgara.

And if you haven't read the Belgariad, you'll now think I'm slightly mad.

HelenMumsnet · 20/01/2010 17:44

Oops, sorry Poledra/Polgara

cocolepew · 20/01/2010 17:45

Helllllllllllooooooooooooooooo months I've been complaining telling you this- months!

HelenMumsnet · 20/01/2010 17:49

I know, I know but we thought it was only you.

Clearly we now need to rack it up to Defcon2

Polgara2 · 20/01/2010 18:03

Ah yes Helen I AM ticking the keep me logged in bit but it's just ignoring me!!!

Poledra - I know mother, but the Will and the Word just doesn't work on these new fangled computery things. Now in the good old (3000 or so years give or take a few!) days it was much easier to get things to do what I wanted . And anyway when did I ever listen to father!

OP posts:
cocolepew · 20/01/2010 18:06

Oh it's ok when it's only me huh?!

GoWithIt · 20/01/2010 21:26

They obviously thought you were a bit dim & didn't understand simple instructions

HelenMumsnet · 20/01/2010 21:55

and

No, sorry, I just meant it's easier to get the Shed occupants to pay full and frank attention to a problem when we can tell 'em LOADS of people have got it.

snigger · 20/01/2010 22:01

Happens to me too, but I'm stoic. I'm a Spartan, me, with the logging in.

pinksancerre · 20/01/2010 22:43

Happens to me too... on explorer

GoWithIt · 27/01/2010 15:32

It's still happening

shonaspurtle · 27/01/2010 15:34

Me too (IE6)

shonaspurtle · 27/01/2010 15:35

Actually, IE8 at home as well.

Polgara2 · 29/01/2010 12:09

Well this has now turned into one of those delightful 'intermittent' faults! Today, for instance, it works - yesterday it didn't - how on earth can that be? It's not me guvnor honest!

OP posts:
littleducks · 29/01/2010 12:32

Oh this happens to me too, am on internet explorer

GeraldineMumsnet · 29/01/2010 14:15

BigTech has had a look at stuff our end and it's all working (for once).

He suggests you check your cookie settings and make sure that cookies are accepted for all sites (in IE with Windows look in internet options and on a Mac it's in preferences).

Hope that helps. If not, post here or in Site Tech stuff topic. Thanks
