Especially if it is to do with possible trolls. Even a courtesy email to say "we are looking into it". Luckily someone else has outed the poster as a troll by now. But "thanks" MNHQ.

Sorry we do always try to respond in a timely fashion, honest. We are looking into this poster and will respond to the reports - first of which arrived this am - shortly - sometimes it does take a little time to do a thorough invesigation. (And we've only tweeted once this morning!)

Outing people on the boards is not the preferred option, as you know. It's not fair if the poster is genuine.

Hmm , well i reported a poster a few days ago via the red !

In defence of MNHQ, whenever I report anything, usuallly adverts mind you, there is always a quick response and "a looking into it" kind of email.

HelenMumsnet · 12/01/2010 15:56

Mumofmonsters - we do try to reply to every email that comes in, so all we can think of is that your one was accidentally overlooked.

If you can remember what post it was, please do report it again - we'll look out for it.

If not, please drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll try to track it down.

I always get near instant replies if people are selling but this is not the first time i have contacted MN about a troll and its gone un noticed. Its possibly me

The poster has been outed now so unless i see them again there is little point.

Ah, well, that could be because trolls tend to trigger a few hundred more reported posts in our inbox than sneaky sellers.

Even so, you should have got a reply - eventually - and we're sorry you didn't last week.
