Why has nothing been done about Puma yet ??

I know people have emailed in to MN and I also know it is friday evening etc etc but to let this low life continue to insult people on here is not on.

Just because it's Friday evening, I think nutty. Although the original thread was deleted quite quickly wasn't it?

emmatmg · 01/07/2005 21:47

I'm not sure, but I doubt there is someone on duty 24/7.

maybe it's just out of office time at MN HQ.......

I'm surprised too though.

nutcracker · 01/07/2005 21:48

Well yeah thats what I thought.

This person is being allowed to get away with all this and no one is doing bugger all about it.

We need a locked thread feature or mods that can delete i think.

zebraZ · 01/07/2005 21:52

Whole thing is really getting out of hand.

cupcakes · 01/07/2005 21:55

I think the moderators should have more control if this is allowed to continue from Friday evening to Monday morning.

zebraZ · 01/07/2005 21:57

Mods could have more control on weekends? I can only remember Lou33 is a mod, has anyone emailed her?

nutcracker · 01/07/2005 21:58

Exactly, this could go on for ages otherwise.

OP posts:
nutcracker · 01/07/2005 22:03

For gods sake this is just ridiculous, this needs dealing with NOW.

OP posts:
fairydust · 01/07/2005 22:05

what's the point in having mods if they ca'nt deal with things like this - it's discusting and upsetting.

hunkermunker · 01/07/2005 22:05

Can't mods be given the facility to block a poster till MN Towers opens?

nutcracker · 01/07/2005 22:06

Surely someone has contact numbers for mn hq inacase of situations like this ??

OP posts:
Aero · 01/07/2005 22:06

Agree - this is horrible tonight and I hate to say it, but the dialect from a certain poster appears distinctly Irish. Just the way things have been written is how they'd come out at home iyswim though I have no idea who he/she is.

hulababy, pixiefish, champs are mods, no one got their email?

fairydust · 01/07/2005 22:07

HULA'S ON HOL

QueenZebra · 01/07/2005 22:08

oops. see things are moving on (YGs message). I am logging off, don't want to watch it any more.

nerdgirl · 01/07/2005 22:20

Aero, Puma says she was born in Belfast but moved to Britain when she was four.

Aero · 01/07/2005 22:22

Ooooooh - missed that. Mind you for someone who moved here at four, the dialect is still very strongly N Irish. Was this tonight or has 'she' been on mn before - I haven't noticed the name previously.

nerdgirl · 01/07/2005 22:30

She's been posting since 8th of June. First post was, ironically, on Titania's thread. Didn't notice any particular Northern Irishisms myself but then I wasn't looking for them.

Aero · 01/07/2005 22:32

I don't want to quote them because they're not very nice, but just what someone at home might say when they're having a go.

JustineMumsnet · 02/07/2005 00:15

Hi all,
Sorry for delay in dealing with this - was a rare occasion when no one was watching. Moderators do have contact numbers for hq but it's friday night and unusually seems we were all awol. We have now banned Puma and deleted all his/her posts.

The truth is though we're not (and nor are our moderators) on 24/7 and things like this can happen. As someone has suggested on another thread the best way of dealing with obvious trolls is not to respond, hard as it is. For more on our troll policy and how to deal with them, click here
Thanks.

Thanks, Justine. Much appreciated. Is always when the teachers are off-duty that the pupils play up at boarding school. It's midnight feast syndrome.

Recent joiner rather than name-changer. Will do some further digging when can raise Tech.

hunkermunker · 02/07/2005 00:41

Do you track IP addresses at MN Towers? Or is that classified info?
