Why don't I stay logged in?

When I log in I always click on "keep me logged in", but if I leave the site, then come back I have to log in again.

WHY????

KurriKurri · 29/12/2009 20:24

are you clicking on 'remember me until I log out'?

HelenMumsnet · 30/12/2009 11:15

Hi BethAndHerBrood

Is this still happening to you?

Flame · 30/12/2009 11:41

does it do it on other sites too?

I had it doing it for me, all cookies remembered etc... turnd out I had a trojan, works fine since killing that

BethAndHerBrood · 30/12/2009 14:39

Yes, still happening.

(For me that translates into "twitter")

HelenMumsnet · 30/12/2009 15:00

So, Beth, sorry for sounding patronising but, when you log in, you get the pop-up window, type in your nickname and password, and then click on the arrows by the "Remember me till I log out" prompt, so that the "No" changes to "Yes"?

BethAndHerBrood · 30/12/2009 17:35

Yes, I do that, it doesn't work.

OK, thanks. That's not good - obviously.

Will make sure to mention it to the Techs when they return from their New Year wassailing (or whatever it is Techs do to see the old year out).

hocuspontas · 30/12/2009 18:11

I've had this problem for about 18 months. At the time I think Tech said it was something to do with cookies. I don't like having cookies enabled so have just put up with it. Agree it's v. annoying though!

NomDePlume · 30/12/2009 18:13

do you allow cookies ?

Ivykaty44 · 30/12/2009 18:16

I turned my cookies right down - and since then I have this, I log in and press yes remember me - then it doesn't.

but I find having the cookies turned down really low keep my pc running much faster...

So will be logging in when I want to rather than letting my pc get slower and slower

BethAndHerBrood · 31/12/2009 00:31

I don't understand any form of computer speak, so will see what DH says.

It's not a huge problem really. There are worse things!
