Nice shading -any chance of anymore?

WreckOfTheHesperus · 14/12/2009 16:54

Wouldn't it be good if the OP's replies were shaded a lovely colour in every post (a la Ed Milliband interview)?

Would be particularly useful on AIBU.

Any chance of this?

Thanks

Dunno, love. 'Sgonna costya.

In all seriousness I don't know how tricky it is to do from a Tech pov and whether doing that on all the threads will cause the server to fall over problems.
No harm in asking though, I spose.

Thanks - would be good for those of us who skip out all the rather tedious purple prose in classical literature, and just cut to the chase.

This is technically possible am sure. What does everyone think though - do you want it - tis a fairly big change? [conservative with a small c emoticon]

Hmmm, so we could see when the OP bothers to come back and reply.

I sort of like it, but would is demean the other posters, like their opinion isn't valid?

CankyMunt · 04/01/2010 12:10

I really should change my name back...

overhtinking alert

I think it would be nicer to have your own posts highlighted , or the last one you read which would be much more useful.

Flamesparrow · 04/01/2010 12:17

me overthinking?

Flamesparrow · 04/01/2010 12:23

(I was Canky)

GleeE4 · 04/01/2010 12:27

yy

Flamesparrow · 04/01/2010 12:29

You have a point

MerlinsBeard · 04/01/2010 12:34

i like that idea (not seen the Ed Milliband thing)

Can we not have a "in reply to..." thing? so we know what on earth the person is replying to? a la twitter?

hocuspontas · 04/01/2010 12:37

Oooh yes. And every one who says 'yes' on AIBU could tick a box and their posts could be tinted red and all those who agreed with the OP could have theirs tinted green.

This would be particularly useful if you wanted an overview on whether to pile in (mainly reds) or leave alone as v.boring (mainly greens)

Yes?

onebatmother · 04/01/2010 12:50

I think we should have a mauve option for when they are being bloody u but we're too scared of them to say so.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 04/01/2010 13:08

I second having your own post highlighted as it can be a bugger to find if a lot of people have posted after you.

hocuspontas · 04/01/2010 13:14

At the risk of the server buckling under shouldn't we just use the ctrl F (find) option? Or is that too boring?

Jux · 04/01/2010 13:35

Who would decide on the colours for each one though? If it's mnhq then they'll need a moderator.

Also, I reckon my poor sickly computer will die if it tries to load colours as well! What about people who have even older models than mine?
