Of all the sticks to beat us with, this has got to be the worst...

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease, nobody actually uses it, do they?

I'm on the TTC thread and we use SWI - shagging with intent. Much better

Kayzr · 27/11/2009 07:14

We used GOF - Good Old Fuck on our old TTC thread.

JollyPirate · 27/11/2009 07:18

Okay - am going to be ignorant and ask...... wtf does BD stand for? Am racking my (tired) brain.

piratecat · 27/11/2009 07:24

baby dancing

SWI is a good one.

Af is a bit rubbish, but can't think of another.

BellaBear · 27/11/2009 07:26

People DO use BD and AF on here - there are swathes of people on MN who only go on the conception boards and that is where they are used. I'm friends with people I met on the conception boards who just don't venture onto the rest of the site.

Well, at least they did use them three years ago when that was the only part of MN I went on.

BitOfFun · 27/11/2009 08:41

I take your point, BellaBear, but it doesn't reflect the site as a whole (and is found a bit twee by the majority), so I don't see why it needs to be on the main list especially when people arelaughing-- at us

I think it's best if we just stop referring to sex altogether. We're mothers, not animals.

BitOfFun · 27/11/2009 09:04

You're quite right of course, SOH- I don't like to mention it myself, but there are some more base types among us, and we do need to be more inclusive, non?

ShowOfHands · 27/11/2009 09:31

Of course BoF. I have mental images of all MNers I have a crush on admire and you, my dear, are a nun. I don't know why we can't round them all up in a little corner of MN and lock the door. Let their sexual proclivities cancel each other out until they slip into an existential void which we can then fill with tea and knitting. Beasts they are, filthy beasts.

I do so want an actual Friday Night topic though. I've asked several times. They ignore me. It's like having another child trying to reason with MNHQ.

TrillianAstra · 27/11/2009 11:18

I concur.

CMOTdibbler · 27/11/2009 11:23

Am in agreement also. BDing is just nasty

stillfrazzled · 27/11/2009 11:31

SWI is fab. Gets my vote.

FairyLightsForever · 27/11/2009 11:35

The only time i've ever seen BD used on Mumsnet is on a thread laughing at Netmums type sites. DB and AF are both horrific.

MmeLindt · 27/11/2009 11:40

BD is just horrible. It is the kind of euphanism that went out with the Victorians.

We are WOMEN not teenagers unable to say the word SEX without sniggering.

SWI is much better as it implies humour and LUST rather than simpering wannabeemummies.

bibbitybobbityhat · 27/11/2009 11:45

I used to have the Becoming A Parent topic unhidden and it was littered with, positively awash with baby dancing. Sorry, but there's no denying it does exist on this site.

But of course it should go!

Ka booooooooommmmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmango · 27/11/2009 11:59

Another vote for SWI

ABetaDad · 27/11/2009 12:02

I used to live in SW1.

BellaBear · 27/11/2009 14:54

BitofFun - absolutely, you are right. And I hate the acronym BD. And the phrase.
just making the point.

WhatDidISayRoy · 27/11/2009 15:06

Cant stand BD or EWM (don't ask)

CornishKK · 27/11/2009 15:12

BD - lose it, please. I initially thought it literally meant dancing with your baby, which I do a lot, mainly in my kitchen and often to Primal Scream or something equally unsuitable.

And AF, WTF, what's wrong with "my turkey has had its throat cut"?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/11/2009 15:16

I have a friend who uses this term in real life, over dinner, whenever. Noooooooooooooo

norksinmywaistband · 27/11/2009 15:17

They have gone!

RoysRolls · 27/11/2009 15:18

Result!!! Yay high five!

joyfull · 27/11/2009 15:22

Goes off to google....

JustAnotherManicMummy · 27/11/2009 15:29

Oh I am glad they've gone. Particularly because DH is a rubbish dancer
