Am I the only one for whom MN isn't working properly at the moment?

Eg if I click on threads I'm on and then try to click on messages since my last one, it just takes me back to the beginning of the thread again instead. Also it was doing something else annoying yesterday, but nappy brain means I have no recollection what it was

I think I've just updated Firefox, so it could be that if no one else is having any issues.

Oh yes - search isn't working for me. If I click on "Select topics" then the box doesn't come up, so I have no way of actually selecting any topics, and erm something else ... I don't think the search results were behaving as they should either.

I think they're aware of these things, been happening for a while.

The other search thing is that you can't click on the result, it just takes you to the topic.

They are Working On It.

Right, now my issue. Sorry, hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread Dita.

The post above illustrates my problem. You see that beautiful failure of a rainbow, that's my problem.

When I'm having an existential emoticon crisis, I want full use of the expressions available. Now, no matter how accurately I type the emoticons, some of them don't come out properly. Those emoticons above were typed properly. I previewed and previewed, retyped etc. It seems random. Sometimes the emoticons just won't appear and you get [a ngry] instead for example.

What's all that about, eh?

I'm also having problems accessing Active Convos -it doesn't happen all day/evening just for blocks of time, mainly evenings (so maybe when the site is busier??).

If I click Active Convos I just get a white page with the MN logo top left.

I started a thread about it the other day but nobody else seems to have the same problem

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2009 09:48

That happens to me too Norbert! Usually in an evening and at random.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 13/11/2009 09:50

yup, the servers must be busy or something, the pages take an age to refresh and sometimes get caught on the mn logo forever.

Deadworm · 13/11/2009 09:54

Sowofhands see here for an exhaustive analysis of the vagiaries of the MN Mystery Space.

RustyBear · 13/11/2009 10:08

at 'Sowofhands' - does this have some connection to 'Rebecca Loos Guide to Pig Wanking' to which Pagwatch was referring on the thread-banning thread?

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2009 10:10

OMG that thread is brilliant. It's like a conspiracy birth in action.

And don't call me a Sow. My delicate sensibilities can't take it this morning.

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2009 10:11

Oh no, worse than being called a Sow, somebody trying to connect me to Loos. I'm hurt.

Deadworm · 13/11/2009 13:09

oops sorry about 'sow'. No intentional ref to Loos. I'm not really up to speed on pig wanking.

Swedes2Turnips0 · 13/11/2009 13:20

It is time they got rid of that Charlie's Angels Mumsnet logo and replaced it with something more suitable. I think an almost finished wine glass with residual cheap-pig-fat lipstick round the rim would be good. Or perhaps just a simple outline of a howling woolf in front of a full moon?

Deadworm · 13/11/2009 16:36

That would be Virginia? Rather than Leonard. I presume.

Deadworm · 13/11/2009 17:10

Howling woolf would say it all about MN -- quite clever, but barking.

DitaVonCheese · 14/11/2009 11:15

Hijack away - I am also disappointed by the rainbow failure
