'search' issues fao Tech

Hi

When i search for keywords in thread titles and a list comes up... if i then click on the thread title it takes me to the topic page iyswim and i need to scroll through to try and find the specific thread....

didn't use to be like this...is it a wee problem?

i don't want to keep asking MNers boring questions about toys when the answers are already there - i just can't access them!

ja9: do you mean you get taken right back to the Topic Home page (eg Parenting or Pregnancy)? Or do you mean you get taken back to the first page of the thread in question?

The Foosa: yes, Choose Topics isn't working in Search at the moment. The Techs are working hard to fix that.

Advance search still not working either

This is happening to me too and is a PITA!

E.G I just searched for thread to do with activities for a 2 year old. So I entered "activities 2" in the search box and a whole page of results came up.

I clicked on one which was in the Childminders topic, called "Daily activities with a 2 year old" - I clicked on the thread title but instead it goes to the Childminders topic page.

I then have to switch the list of threads into alphabetical order and guess where the "D" for "Daily" will be in the alphabetical list, out of 270-odd pages of threads. It was page 115 or something. Took me ages

I noticed when I was searching yesterday for a post I made a few months ago that I got a page of results and when I clicked on the actual post I wanted it just goes to the start of the thread the post is in - not to the actual post highlighted in the search results.

Happened several time to me. I guess part of the same issue.

Am experiencing this too

I said about this over a week ago and someone said Tech was working on it. Well it still ain't fixed. I also get taken back to the topic home page rather than the actual thread. Can't always find the actual thread if its an old one.

AND we haven't heard from HelenMumsnet since Wednesday.

Oh yes this was annoying me just this afternoon as well. Hope we hear soon.
