It is my ds's 5th birthday tomorrow and you have just brought several tears to my eyes! Thank you for such a funny, realistic and true image of exactly what my little boy is like. I especially laughed at the description of joke telling.
Thank you mumsnet!

Those "what to expect" emails are brilliant, aren't they?

jabberwocky · 07/06/2005 10:14

Oh, yes! We just got one on potty training.

cupcakes · 07/06/2005 10:15

Yes, I was anticipating something along the lines of lisiting physical and learning achievements but I really enjoyed the character descriptions and humour. Very good!

Thanks for that lovely positive feedback - we love them too.. It feels so huge (well it did to me) when you get the age 5 one, especially if you've been getting them from babydom..feels like a sort of coming of age... oh stop me or I'll be weeping....

hunkermunker · 07/06/2005 12:09

I never get these, despite being registered for them.

Happy birthday to cupmuffin! I know what you mean about those MN birthday messages!

WideWebWitch · 07/06/2005 12:10

I liked the 18mo one too, it made me laugh, thanks!

I've just checked and I am definitely set up to receive them.

cupcakes · 07/06/2005 12:25

Thanks Carla! I'm going to have to start calling them my cupmuffins!
It really does feel like a coming of age.

God, I'm starting to mist up again...
