Why are threads just pulled without any reference????

I posted on the thread about the quote about the multiple abortion woman this morning. come back a couple of hours later and it's pulled.

Why not just stop new posts if it gets too much much like the 1000posts rule? That would stop the bickering but enable those who have already posted to see how the debate went. Or pull it but allow it to still show on threads I'm on. Not to continue posting but to read back through.

As it is, there's no way of knowing how it all went.

Are any of these possible?

Myredcardigan, sorry to annoy you.

Spidermama is right - we never pull threads lightly but there were pressing reasons for the OP wanting this thread gone.

We asked her to post on the thread, saying she'd asked us to delete it - which she did.
And we then left it up for another hour or so, so those on it could read her post.

Sorry that you must have missed that. But we do hope you understand.

We completely agree, myredcardigan - which is why we really do try to avoid deleting threads.

If one goes without warning, you can pretty much surmise it was hideously libellous or horribly obscene or started maliciously by a troll - or needed to be pulled for a really serious reason by the OP.

We're not all sitting here with our fingers twitching over the MNHQ delete button, I promise you!
