I tried classic and it looked like my 4 year old had done it and the words were too bright.

It is only when starting a new thread.

If you're in New, there should be a 'Start a new thread within 'xxx Topic' link at the top of the Topic list, under the Topic title.

Are you not seeing that?

It appeared to be fine when I just tried it now.

Annoys me too (you don't get it on 'threads I'm on or 'active' etc)
I thought I was in classic, but don't know, I'll look at changing it then

was doing it to me the other day too! It's ok now tho.
