What does MNHQ look like?

Do you all work from home? Is there one really special computer that holds it all? Do you have a huge 3 storey office building dedicated to running this site, filled with PA's, post boys, secretaries and late night cleaners? Do you have middle management?

Do you wear pencil skirts or birkenstocks, do you congregate together during classic work hours or are you family friendly?

I'd like to know exactly what you are all like, oh workers and movers and shakers of MNHQ. I need descriptions of buildings, office furniture, accessories, work wardrobes, staff etc.

Not for any reason other than I think a sitcom could be based on it and it makes me laugh with the endless possibilities.

But I have been writing for nearly 9 whole hours and am certifiably round the twist at the moment so maybe it isnt funny??? Not sure. MN jury you decide.

I fantasise they all look like Morticia. Even BigTech.

frAKKINPannikin · 03/07/2009 19:35

I want to know how one gets to work for MNHQ!

The interview process must be amusing.

Gingerly · 03/07/2009 19:36

wel you can look on google maps surely

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/07/2009 19:44

You have to bribe Justine with nice biscuits apparently. Nice ham is no longer enough.

Gingerly · 03/07/2009 19:45

I cant find the postal address atm to look

frAKKINPannikin · 03/07/2009 19:51

Mental image of Justine saying "I hope you brought a classy biscuit. I had to fire the last person because they brought me Jammy Dodgers."

Fimbo · 03/07/2009 19:53

Is HQ in Ipswich or London?

GeraldineMumsnet · 03/07/2009 19:59

The interview process is hilarious rigorous.

Gruelling psychometric tests based on biscuits and baby names.

Have just recovered celebrated my 1st year at the Towers.

Fimbo · 03/07/2009 20:00

Could we organise a day trip please Geraldine?

morningpaper · 03/07/2009 20:02

Google maps doesn't cover it

It is up a secret street

I've been there

It is a bit like entering the London Dungeon

They all sit around a big table with teeny tiny white macs

Except YetMoreTech who sits behind an ENORMOUS wall of screens which show every MNer at their computer goodness knows what

morningpaper · 03/07/2009 20:02

When I say macs, I mean those little Mac computers laptoppy things

Not very small raincoats

Jumente · 03/07/2009 20:04

We had this thread about 3 weeks ago, didn't we? What happened to it?

SoupDragon · 03/07/2009 20:05

"It is up a secret street"

Looks like a dodgey industrial estate to me

Wheelybug · 03/07/2009 20:07

LOL at 'teeny tiny white macs' - I did think small raincoats. I am so not with the times .

SpawnChorus · 03/07/2009 20:18

LOL I thought raincoats too. Like something out of an Austin Powers movie.

BigTech

whomovedmychocolate · 03/07/2009 20:20

MNHQ is marked on some street signs to help you find it prior to the interview newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/45441000/jpg/_45441742_000138701-1.jpg

Once you past the receptionist th02.deviantart.net/fs11/300W/i/2006/175/9/c/Scraming_Lunatic_by_Della_Stock.jpg

To your left, Tech attempts to test the temp for biscuit friendliness

hereidrawtheline · 03/07/2009 20:56

Um... are you trying to tell me YetMoreTech sees me naked MNing every day?

OP posts:
nannynick · 03/07/2009 23:11

Are you really wanting to know? If so... I believe this is an external view of the office building: MumsnetTowers

Some internal shots from when the building was renovated... Deane House Studios

The above are based on Mumsnet's registered office address... which may be different to day-to-day operations, but I suspect it may be the same place. Anyone who has been to MNHQ able to confirm?

nannynick · 03/07/2009 23:13

Now that we have Mumsnet TV, maybe we will get a Video Tour of MNHQ.
