Is there somewhere to formally introduce oneself or should I just jump straight in?

In truth, this website is HUGE and I don't know where to begin.

Is there a way to search the "for sale" and swap section by locality?

Hello!

dive in - you will NEVER leave!

no idea about sales and swaps threads as i don't really venture there ...

OrmIrian · 30/06/2009 14:08

Jump in. The water's lovely. Apart from the odd shark

Keep willy-nillying through the active conversations to give you a taster of how everyone spends all day timewasting discussing important and pertinent matters....

onepieceofcremeegg · 30/06/2009 14:12

Click on "topics" near the top of this page and you will see a list of them, including the for sale boards (although I never really go there)

If you post on "am I being unreasonable?" be fully prepared for some people to say that you are.

If you have any ideas for marvellous witty threads such as " I shouted at a middle aged man trying to park in a parent and toddler space" then have a little search first. You may find to your surprise that this has been discussed before (once or twick)

Don't type in "text speak" - if you want to shorten words/phrases have a little look at the list of abbreviations first.

Bbbut my life is made up of incidents that inspire marvellous witty threads like "I shouted at middle aged man trying to park in a parent and toddler space."

What on earth shall I write about.

OK re txtspk. Fariy nuff. Are we allowed the occasional lol? Even in jest?

Most things end up in "chat". You also have to pay £5 to use "for sale", instructions on how to do it will be on there.

Welcome.

Oh and don't not call anyone HUN!

Fimbo · 30/06/2009 14:27

Pah - do not.

Overmydeadbody · 30/06/2009 14:31

Hi newbie!

Just dive in to active convos and you'll be fine.

As fimbo said, don't call anyone HUN unless you are selling a pram.

Putty · 30/06/2009 14:32

Ok Fimbo Hun.

Oh, sorry...

welcome

take a good look now at your children and DH tho...........next time you look they will either be 10yrs older, or even skelingtons in the corner clutching dusty bowls............................

GooseyLoosey · 30/06/2009 14:38

Don't know anything about sale really, but if you want to talk to people "active conversations" is a good place to lurk.

Welcome!

ABetaDad · 30/06/2009 14:53

Welcome Putty do jump right in on Active Conversations. Don't be frightened to start your own threads on things that you need to know about or controversial topics - it livens things up.

Do try and get out for a bit of sunlight once a day though.
