I live in a house with my sons dad,the house is his, my daughter lives here with me too, we have no physical relasionship and have seperate bedrooms. I pay rent and my share of the bills, I pay less than half as I pay for everything for our son. I moved in here because I couldn't afford to keep my house. I dont do his shopping or washing and we share housework. He's never here, always working or at the gym or pub. Would we be classed as a couple in the eyes of the tax credit people?

yes you are living together as if married

More house mates I'd say tbh. You're not sleeping together so you're not living as if you are married imo but I know nothing about the legal side of it.

There is no physical relasionship, there never was really, just a quick fumble, but he has always wanted to do the right thing by his son. we do't even socialise together, I am seeing another bloke.

Well no you are not, however I am not sure that tax credits would buy it TBH. Why don't you ring them and explain the situation? I am not sure if the investigate these things but I know they do have interviewers who can get involved so they may want you both to go in and have a chat.
