Flag for obvious troll threads?

I don't know if this would be possible, but is there anyway we could possibly have a function like YouTube, where we could mark threads/posts as spam?

Last night there seemed to be quite a lot of awful posts being made by 3 individuals, or one sick person.

They were being reported and deleted very quickly but if we could mark them, then other genuine members would know to ignore them completely and not post on them.

Thanks for the thought Flappy but the best strategy though really is to ignore (and report), not to mark in anyway. Could imagine that might be seen as a bit of a challenge?

I think most of the late night crowd have got the idea now not to rise to the bait, I know some got replies but most were deleted without even an acknowledgment.

I think Justine is right, anything we can see they can also see and it is just another way of giving them attention.

This too will pass

I reported loads but there were a few people last night who reported and then posted to say what they had done.

This as you know, kept them bumped in active convo's until they were deleted, trolling will never be stopped but last nights efforts just hit a new low.

Can't forget a certain thread about the usb cable, that was just sick.

They did seem to give up though, obviously realised that we weren't rising to the bait!

So there is no real problem then? MNHQ were on it and thetrolls got bored and went away.

I realise it may be nice to have a way to warn posters not to click on a thread because it is a bit sick (like last night) but I don't see a way to do that without giving them attention. (This is another reason why I think view counters on threads are a bad idea) and it is an open forum so people are going to read things they don't like occasionally.

I agree ti would be better if people reported and left rather than reported and posted but sometimes people feel they have to have their 2penceworth!

Did feel like telling them exactly what I thought of them, but that is exactly what they wanted - at least the threads were all deleted very quickly!
