MNHQ: threads aren't hiding

When I try to hide a thread in the special needs topic, it won't hide (i.e. it stays in active convos). Threads in other topics are hiding fine.

Just thought you'd like to know.

FredWorm: thank you for pointing that out - you're right, the hide option isn't working for the Special Needs topic. We shall investigate...

LeninGrad: Not sure about the answer to your multiple machine question. Will try to nab a Tech and ask for you...

LeninGrad: do you log in at each of your four devices?

And re your Local site comments - do you mean the Active Convos on your Mumsnet Local? Because, if you do, they don't have a hide option at present...

Go and watch CBeebies do some work, Lenin!

Flamesparrow · 07/05/2009 09:57

I've had that too.

LeninGrad - this happens to me too - as soon as I turn up to see a problem, it goes away - I think it's because the computers are scared of us techs & know they have to behave when we're around

RustyBear · 07/05/2009 21:01

btw I log in to MN from 2 laptops, a desktop & an iPhone at home & up to sixty desktops and laptops none at all at work

I usually stay logged in all the time, but I sometimes find that if I go to a computer I haven't used for a while, I often have to log in again.

RustyBear · 07/05/2009 21:45

Have just been conducting some totally unscientific research on logging in/out on my desktop (which has Firefox & IE) and my laptop (Firefox, IE & Chrome)

It seems that 'Log out' logs me out on all browsers but only on that machine.

'Log in' only logs me in on that browser; so if I log in on Firefox & then go to Chrome or IE, I have to log in again.

Logging in without saying 'Yes' to 'remember me till I log out' acts like logging out, so if I then go back to a browser where I was previously logged in, I'm now logged out.

Yes, I know, but it's better than doing the ironing.....

FredWorm: you should be able to hide threads in Special Needs (as well as everywhere else) now.
