CyberSentinel needs 50 Mumsnetters to test its e-safety computer software. Endorsed by Dr Tanya Byron, the software allows you to monitor and limit your child's internet use and even receive emails with screen grabs if there's a problem. The product test is open to PC users (sorry no Macs) with children aged 6-15. Testers will get a year's free use of the software, plus the chance to win an 8gb iPod Touch. Thanks MNHQ

  • with one slight adjustment to ds2's age as he's 5.8 and the biggest internet user - he's ticked as 6 Well he thinks he's about 10yo anyway

Why is it necessary to supply full details before they decide if they will accept you?

There is a good American product available which offers a one off "lifetime payment" - why should I opt for this instead?

How do I know I can trust this company with access to a computer in my home? They could use that contact for cyberfraud?

Screening for specific words is often evaded by deliberate misspellings and/or use of odd characters - does this product deal with that?

The internet is full of guidance for computer literate children on how to evade this sort of programme.

Done, and I do have a PC with Windows XP that I could use it on, but the others are Linux - don't suppose that is a supported platform either is it?
