...thats it really, I can't STAND it (don't really know why) just looks so artifical and unreal...

OP posts:
MuffinBaker · 18/04/2009 17:31

Which one?

suwoo · 18/04/2009 17:40

The pregnant bird? I'm not keen either.

BitOfFun · 18/04/2009 17:43

I think it's the blowjob mouth...a bit off-putting like this:

Callipygia · 18/04/2009 17:48

Another pregnant woman on her back
I think MN are really going down the well-trodden path of being another off-the-shelf parenting site - same old same old. Instead of challenging stereotypes, which is much more interesting

Portofino · 18/04/2009 17:49

BOF - based on all the sex threads this weekend, it might be more appropriate to have a PG woman actually giving a blowjob!

TheBolter · 18/04/2009 17:50

Yeah, I hate it too! Why's she pulling such a ridiculous face! Ooooo!! I've just realised I'm going to have a baby! Oh big bloody deal!

BitOfFun · 18/04/2009 17:55

Portofino

It's spring, innit?!

MintyyAeroEgg · 18/04/2009 18:00

Totally agree. Its utter crap. Where is the lovely breastfeeding one?

Portofino · 18/04/2009 18:02

Definitely spring! I've even roused DH out of winter hibernation

SoupDragon · 18/04/2009 18:05

PMSL @ "another pregnant woman on her back" She's not in hospital. As for "challenging stereotypes

BitOfFun · 18/04/2009 18:14

Perhaps we need something more likethis? [mischievous]

MintyyAeroEgg · 18/04/2009 18:55

I am pathetically squeamish BOF. Should I click?

Portofino · 18/04/2009 18:59

How about this one?

BitOfFun · 18/04/2009 19:05

Now we're talking

MintyyAeroEgg · 18/04/2009 19:08

I shouldn't click should I?

I never watch births on tv. I haven't even given birth myself (2 c-sections here).

I'll regret it if I take a peek won't I?

FAQinglovely · 18/04/2009 19:11

she looks to me like she's sitting in her bed at home (otherwise that' a fucking nice hospital bed and bedding and I want to know where it is ) .........and I don't know about you lot but I frequently sat up in bed when pg at home

Agree her face is rather odd

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 18/04/2009 19:17

Her face is too odd - like she has pulled back the bedcovers and is surprised at the bump!!
And that colour lippy does her no favours!!

TenThousandSpoons · 18/04/2009 19:19

Or maybe she's yawning?

Portofino · 18/04/2009 20:15

OOh Minty, I watched ALL the birth progs. Trainee MWs and all. I used to wake up at 4am as too uncomfortable, and they kindly timed all this programming just right . I blubbed every time a baby was born. And strangely when it was MY turn I wasn't that scared as I thought i had seen it all!

MintyyAeroEgg · 18/04/2009 20:32

But WHAT is on that link you posted Port?

I watch all those birth programmes, don't you worry. Just hide behind cushion for the crowning and beyond bit .

greatwhiteshark · 18/04/2009 20:35

She's having her first contraction, I think! Or maybe she is in hospital and someone's hand is under the sheet giving her a sweep

Portofino · 18/04/2009 21:01

Oh no - the link I posted is fine! Even for the feint hearted i swear! I googled pregancy and greggs and strangely it linked to MN!

MintyyAeroEgg · 18/04/2009 21:29

Ahhhhh! Am ok. Clicked on both links. No blood, gore, or fourth degree tears to be seen.

But seriously that pic on the home page is a blardy insult to anyone who has ever been in labour. And that constitutes a fair proportion of those of us who post on this site, I think.

Bluestocking · 18/04/2009 21:37

Reminds me of this Smack the Pony sketch.

Gentle · 18/04/2009 21:47

Bluestocking That's what I'm always tempted to do when some stranger makes a really trite "You're expecting, then?" comment!
