Sorry if already answered - why, on the talk board, is the number of replies no longer accurate? One may say 2, then you go on it and it's 74 pages and 7650 replies!
Just a small thing but rather niggling.

I have not noticed a big differance like that, I have noticed it saying 1 or 2 then clicking and it being or 6 but that is because people have posted after your page loaded IYSWIM. Perhaps you are clicking on threads where lots of people post really fast?

GreenPenguin · 12/04/2009 08:03

Thanks Canute - here's an example. In 'last hour' - look at, for example, Word association - easter edition. It says "1 message. Latest 12 Apr 09, 7:43:39 AM". There are over 800 replies.
I suspect it's just how many in the last hour, but that's not the point.

It says 847 for me, both in chat and in active convos. I am on Classic MN, are you on new?

HelenMumsnet · 12/04/2009 21:45

GreenPenguin, sorry to show up so late to reply to you but I think I may have your answer.

If you're looking in Last Hour or Last !5 mins, the number of posts figure is the number of posts posted in the last hour/last 15 minutes, rather than the number of posts in the entire thread.

Hope that helps

GreenPenguin · 13/04/2009 07:53

Thanks - yes, that's what I suspected - although Number of replies in the whole thread is much more relevant and useful. (in my humble opinion!).

How do I go back to classic mumsnet, as kingCanuteIAm suggests?

And I'm so sorry that you were answering me on easter night!!

thanks

GreenPenguin · 14/04/2009 08:10

Er, before you get too excited, Green Penguin, I should warn you that the same thing happens in Classic.
