We?ve been asked by the Department of Health to find women who are willing to help new parents-to-be by talking about the choices they made while they were pregnant. In order to be eligible you need to live in England and have given birth in the last two years. You will need to be happy to discuss the choices you made when first accessing maternity and antenatal care, as well as the choices you made about where to give birth and your access to postnatal care. They may also want to film you talking about your choices and show these films on relevant websites.

If selected you will be reimbursed for your time and expenses.

If you are interested in volunteering pleaseclick here

There's also a survey open to anyone who has given birth in the last two years in England. Everyone who completes the survey will be in with a chance of winning a £250 voucher for a store of their choice. To take the survey click here

Thanks and good luck

I just really want to win something

Oh and i breed like a rabbit

muppetgirl · 19/03/2009 21:19

oh, i know i won't be picked, my reasons turned into a bit of a whine and winge rather than a positive account of giving birth in this country!

Lulumama · 19/03/2009 21:20

would love to ,but my youngest is nearly 4.

AlistairSim · 19/03/2009 21:23

Done.

JackBauer · 19/03/2009 21:23

I live in Wales, so that's me out.

theyoungvisiter · 19/03/2009 21:26

I would do the volunteering if I didn't have to be filmed! (shudder)

EldonAve · 19/03/2009 21:28

why do the surveys always ask for email and MN nickname? surely you can tell our MN nickname from our email?

have volunteered as well, but just realised that i didn't read your brief terribly well and think that my experience of VBAC probably isn't all that relevant to first time mums ....ah well!

ha ha. i can just not see them choosing me. I was left with PTSD after the first birth and was adamant the second time that wild horses would not drag me back to an nhs maternity ward.

BouncingTurtle · 20/03/2009 07:52

Doubt if they'll pick me, I was rather negative!!

Foxy - meant to tell you, my friend gave birth at the same hospital as you, her experience, though not as bad as yours, was not good - and the bfing support was utterly appauling! Boob grabbing and everything!!

foxytocin · 20/03/2009 08:21

i am back BT! can we organise a meetup with other durham folk?

ihavenewsockson · 20/03/2009 10:49

done it!

Dozymare · 20/03/2009 21:37

complete!

mummypig · 20/03/2009 23:06

Just finished the survey. It said to think about your most recent pregnancy, but I thought the question about what you wish you'd known beforehand applied mostly to first time mums. There are things I wish I'd known before my first pregnancy but of course by number 2 and 3 I knew them already. For this question, I didn't find any of the answers particularly applicable to a third pregnancy.
