Can we have a scowl emoticon?????

sometimes, like today and the way my children have been behaving, I feel the need to scowl about things.

seems too harsh as I'm not angry as such, just a bit hacked off and is the right sort of expression, but the wrong colour.

Can we have a yellow for when we are being scowly but not overly angry about things please?

ooh yes, a [scowl] would be fab.

another ask for the Confused face too please]

and the [axe-weilding-psycho] face too

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 16:57

surely the covers the axe wieldy thing psycho???

confused would be good, as would a vomit one...ie a green . That's been asked before as well I think.

psychomum5 · 16/03/2009 16:59

oh no, I actually want a teeny brown axe waving about

I think the [vomit] one was veto'd by the entomophobes(sp?) as they would be a little freaked by it.

I have to say, being terrified of baby flies (to the point I cannot even type their damn name), and also the black things with 8 legs (won;t type their name for the scared people), I can kinda understand their point......

TrillianAstra · 16/03/2009 17:32

Do you think mumsnet is unnaturally enriched for emetophobes?

I mean, in RL I've never known anyone who was actually phobic of vomit or vomiting.

MargotBeauregarde · 16/03/2009 17:35

I agree, because sometimes anger is too strong. You just want to depict something in between and .

Trillian, I met a woman who is so afraid of vomiting that she won'thave children. Once at school I had a terrible bug and a different girl started shrieking. Everybody was comforting her (in her terror that I might vomit again) and I was left shaking, sweating and mopping up my own vomit, while everybody from matron to head girl stroked the emetophobe! so, I've met two in rl!!

CharleeInChains · 16/03/2009 17:38

I really want, no needa confused emotion kind of like this - :S but in a smiley!

Also a general unwell one, possibly a little strieght mouth and just some green cheeks on a yellow smiley?

psychomum5 · 16/03/2009 17:41

trillian, my MIL is terrified of vomiting.

hers was left over from suffering from hyperemisis during her two pregnancies. she now has to have jabs to help her if she is feeling like she will be sick as she has heart issues and the fear makes it worse.

that said, I don;t know of anyone else phobic, altho I do know a few who are scared (IYGWIM)

MrsSeanBean · 16/03/2009 17:43

I am with Charleein Chains, I am confused far more than scowling.

PlumBumMum · 16/03/2009 17:45

Yeap a scowl and a boak, not sure how you would do boak though

hereidrawtheline · 16/03/2009 17:45

I REALLY want a Gallic shrug emoticon.

slayerette · 16/03/2009 17:46

I would love a confused emoticon. I would also love a "FFS get off your high horse and get a sense of humour" emoticon.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 17:47

gosh I'd forgotten about that re the vomit emoticon, but oooh, a general unwell one would be good....surely that would keep the emetophobes happy?

I'd never heard of emetophobia until I joined MN either, but I know one myself in RL now as well.

OP posts:
CharleeInChains · 16/03/2009 17:47

Oh yes a [boak] would be a fab emotion to have. Also a [yawn] for boring (t word) posters.

Trinityrhino · 16/03/2009 17:55

trillian

as an emetophobe I would say that you notice them on here as they can be honest about it on here in a way that (for me at least) I did not do in real life

i was terrified but only a select few knew about it and I didn;t want anyone else to know

TrillianAstra · 16/03/2009 18:33

Ah, so it's like there's a lot of bumsex on MN - actually it's the same in RL but people just don't tell you

MargotBeauregarde · 16/03/2009 18:37

Can the gallic shrug emoticon have a jaunty little navy berret?

On another forum I go to they import emoticons with arms and legs and no end of expressions from photobcuket. I've never worked out how they do it.

MrsSeanBean · 16/03/2009 18:43

at gallic shrug emoticon. It should also have a speech bubble saying 'Meh'.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 19:32

no no no to waving jumping rolling emoticons...we like our understated little fellas.

gallic shrug would be fantastic though

OP posts:
hereidrawtheline · 16/03/2009 19:42

thank you for your votes ladies I knew the gallic shrug would go down well. I really think it would be most useful too. I am seriously putting it forward to MNHQ.

hereidrawtheline · 16/03/2009 19:43

Arent you impressed by how self important I sounded?? I am practising! LOL

OliviaMumsnet · 16/03/2009 19:52

What exactly would the little yellow man be doing to be gallic and shrugging??
[mind boggles]

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 19:54

Not entirely sure, but you can bet your bottom dollar that my wee man would definately be scowling at him for it

OP posts:
hereidrawtheline · 16/03/2009 20:03

LOL LackaDaisy!

Well you would have to incorporate tiny little yellow arms. Thats it though, no moving, just the positioning correct. Perhaps something in the face... dont know... would have to think more on it but slight curl of the lip?

pagwatch · 16/03/2009 20:09

I would like a [no shit sherlock] one and also [read the thread you great twonk - that was answered half an hour ago].

I would also like one that registers that whilst I have read a comment it is so dreadful and ridiculous that I do not want to dignify it with a proper response. Perhaps that could be a mooning one

psychomum5 · 16/03/2009 20:19

oooh yes, a mooning one would be FAB
