CBeebies Advert - The Ad people are surely having us on

MmeLindt · 12/03/2009 14:17

I know that there were a few threads about this recently and that the ad was changed.

I have noticed though, that when the ad is on my screen for longer (when writing a novel slightly longer post) that the rollover function is still on.

You have to wait until the wee girl with the tiger feet finishes dancing and then the other children join in. Then they start singing again.

My DC were straight over to the computer wailing to see the CBeebies again.

It is psychological ad warfare. Just when you think it is safe to go back on MN ...

where is this add, I haven't seen it

MmeLindt · 13/03/2009 06:28

Maybe it is just the overseas MNetters who are still getting it

Hi MmeLindt, we'll check this out and get back to you.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 13/03/2009 13:05

All I've got an ad for is the unbearably smug looking Bedruthan Steps hotel

ArrietyClock · 13/03/2009 13:15

No, not just overseas MNers. It's still there, and I, too, had noticed the time delay.

llareggub · 13/03/2009 13:18

Right.

Cbeebies is about to be banned from my house in protest. DS can make do with whatever we've got on sky+!

MmeLindt · 13/03/2009 17:40

Thanks Catherine.

I am not stopping them watching CBeebies in protest, how on earth would I MN get any housework done?

although it was changed, it is still a rollover ad...it just warns you by having "rollover" written on it when it first appears rather than just letting rip with no notice! It still goes on in an annoying fashion if I'm scrolling across the screen with the laptop mouse pad. I'm getting quite adept at scrolling around it now though but it catches me out at times.

i could turn the volume off on my pc, but then how would i know when it's my turn on scrabble?

squeaver · 27/03/2009 21:24

It's still doing it!!

Oh I'm glad someone has reported it. I thought they'd fixed it.

It has happened about three times to me this morning. Also when I tried to turn sound off last time it wouldn't let me and loaded a separate advert for CBeebies instead.

PuppyMonkey · 28/03/2009 10:33

Oh please fix it, I don't even have to go anywhere near it now with my cursor and it switches itself on!!!!!

vonsudenfed · 28/03/2009 14:08

It is driving me INSANE. It goes off all by itself whenever it loads (I have a scrolling mouse, so suspect that sets it off), and at a volume as I'm also listening to music on the computer. And I've had it three times this lunchtime already.

Whoever thought this was a good idea? It's worse than a pop up ad or a really old-fashioned rubbish website which plays a tune. Can we please not have any more ads with sound, or I'll have to go and find some ad-blocking software, and you wouldn't want that.

vonsudenfed · 28/03/2009 14:15

It's only gone and Done It Again.

And this time I was at the bottom of the page, the ad wasn't even in vision.

AAARGH.

juneybean · 28/03/2009 14:20

It's annoying me, everytime I go to the next page of a thread and I pull my mouse down I accidentally rollover it.

PuppyMonkey · 28/03/2009 17:08

It's bugging me too much to stay on MN now. Hope it gets fixed soon.

llareggub · 28/03/2009 17:25

That blinking advert is really ruining my peaceful mumsnetting. I've been rumbled!

RustyBear · 28/03/2009 17:30

At least they've removed the apostrophes from mums and dads....

Not sure we can fix this late at night but it's been noted and can I just apologise again?

Hello. We're so sorry about this: we'd asked for the rollover to be taken off but it seems it crept back on again somehow

We have stamped our feet asked for it to be taken off again ASAP.

Saltire · 31/03/2009 15:01

I don't get any ads at all on my MN!
