I am not an unfeeling cow, just dealing with my own stuff(like lots of others) and don't want to read all the various thread titles.
surely one thread is enough(or move them to the celeb topic please)

We understand that these threads are difficult to read but we only amalgamate threads in very extreme circumstances, where it's clear the majority of posters want this to happen. In this case please use the 'hide' threads facility. This can be done by clicking on the hide this thread button at the top of each individual thread or by clicking on the customise button (this way you don't have to open each individual thread). Let us know if you need any further assistance.

mshadowsisfab · 20/02/2009 11:59

I try not to, but they are everywhere and the hypocrisy annoys me.
I thaought that was why we haD The cleb topic.

OP posts:
shinyshoes · 20/02/2009 12:01

Why are the treads Hypocritical?

Personally I don't read them, I only read and comment on the ones that interest me.

(I do have a heart I do feel sorry for Jade and her children)

mshadowsisfab · 20/02/2009 12:04

because she was slated on here a while back.
of course it is sad, but countless threads!!
(and I do have a heart ffs, just as I said have R l greif to deal with not cleb stuff)
will hide the threads as suggested, although tempted to start 6 more)

OP posts:
belgo · 20/02/2009 12:05

There aren't that many threads are there?

shinyshoes · 20/02/2009 12:06

OMG I'm so sorry, I didnt mean you don't have a heart I meant that when I said 'I don't read them I only read stuff that interests me' It came across as Jade and the cancer don't interest me and could be seen as heartless.

Accept my apologies.

steps away for the thread before I do anymore damage

mshadowsisfab · 20/02/2009 12:29

thats ok shoes, I was being a bit paranoid.

OP posts:
wannaBe · 20/02/2009 12:51

yes it is hypocritical.

Yes she is dying and yes it is sad, sad for her children and her family and those that actually knew her.

But the way people are going on and on about it, you would think that she is a much-loved celebrity when actually, she isn't. She is someone who rose to fame by appearing on reality tv. And then sank to imfamy by exposing herself as a racist bigot.

Terminal illness hasn't turned her into a saint, and people don't have to like what she stands foor just because she is dying.

MrsStig · 20/02/2009 12:55

Oh look a whole new Jade thread.

mshadowsisfab · 20/02/2009 14:57

MrsStig no A thread asking mn a question

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 20/02/2009 15:02

Well said wannabe..... Brave of you to say what alot of us have been thinking. You put it well,I'd just not yet the words out as well as you did!

Nabster · 20/02/2009 15:03

I think a lot of people are thinking more about the boys she will leave behind rather than what she has done in the past tbh.

mm22bys · 20/02/2009 16:05

I feel sorry for her.

She is not going to see her children grow up, and her children will be without their mum.

I acknowledge that she is in a relatively priveleged position in that she can raise money for their futures after she is gone, but it is still very sad, and I think a lot of people on MN are expressing their grief because they could very easily see themselves in her shoes - a young mother, dying a horrible death, whilst her children are still so young.

The threads don't bother me in the slightest.

mshadowsisfab · 20/02/2009 16:18

fine I kind of get that, but all I aksed is couldn't there be one thread or the threads be in the cleb topic, I didn't say ban all threads.

OP posts:
Nabster · 20/02/2009 16:40

I have a lot of crap going on too but don't think it does any good to pretend this isn't happening.

A young mother is dying potentially because either a doctor or doctors have not done their job properly or because awareness is not sufficient in that Jade did not understand the severity of her situation.

Thousands of women have had smears that wouldn't necessarily have had them and if that saves one life then FANTASTIC.

Hide is there for anyone to use for any reason. I use it myself for threads I see about things that upset me but I would never ask for them to be deleted or kept to one topic. It is MY issue but the person's posts my support someone else. People never posting their thoughts won't stop me having the issues I have.

as I have said I never asked for anything to be deleted. I don't read the threads as I have rl greif....you know when someone you actually know and love has died. that is enogh for me to deal with, maybe that is why I don't want to read about it iynwim. tbh now I have ranted I am so over it. if people want to get sad about a complete stranger that is their choice(I do it myself)

OP posts:
mm22bys · 21/02/2009 00:09

MsShadow, I am probably not alone when I say I am really sad about the whole circumstances. There but for the grace of God and all that...

You know MsShadow, Shite does happen....but it doesn't mean we're not sad over an immediate circumstance that doesn't effect us, but it could so easily...I think that's what I'm sad about...

2shoes · 22/02/2009 17:22

check out how many threads there are now!!
