Am I right to be concerned at a MN'er who often buys or takes free stuff?

I have noticed a MN'er (will not mention names) who -fair enough- has brought/tried to buy a lot of items off people on here but also takes a lot of free items.
Looking through their history they dont do much if anything else on here... Im wondering if maybe they might be making a profit on free stuff or things they are buying for cheap? And wondering if anyone else sees this as a problem or not?
Maybe im looking too much into it or over reacting?

Yes come on, we haven't had a witch hunt for a while...

PottyCock · 13/02/2009 21:57

Not sure tbh. Maybe they are taking free things and selling them, but I guess the people giving the things away must know there is a risk of that to an extent?

On the other hand, if someone was doing that I'd think it was a bit to be honest - not really in the spirity in which it was intnded, and all that...

Mention it to MNHQ if you are worried?

PottyCock · 13/02/2009 21:57

ooh my spelling's good tonight

BitOfFun · 13/02/2009 21:58

Just alert MNHQ, these threads end in tears, honestly...

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 13/02/2009 22:01

They probably are.

I think it's a bit cheeky if someone is getting free stuff and selling it on, but you don't know that's what they are doing, or WHY they are doing it, if they are.

I personally would only give something (if I had anything to give ) to a regular, across the board, contributor. I think a lot of people feel the same way.

But a lot don't and that's fine. S'up to them really, isn't it?

I am sure people who do a lot of swops and trades and sales on that part of the board will notice the same name cropping up over and over, and if it's a problem to them, they'll say so.

cornsilk · 13/02/2009 22:01

Oh go on - mention names.

mel1981 · 13/02/2009 22:02

I have become more cynical I must admit. I offered some free stuff (which is actually still in a bag as I am a slackarse) and some responses were "grateful for anything" and others were "can I have pictures?" I happy to send stuff to people who will use it, but not so happy if someone would just stick it on Ebay.

mel1981 · 13/02/2009 22:07

Ive sold and given free stuff on here but it never occurred to me that anyone would want it to make a profit...until now but maybe im just naive tho!
Will check in future.
Only just realsied the feedback page too LOL. people ive brought from prob think im a ignorant cow for not leaving feedback.
