Go to customise then scroll down to active convos bit and there's a teeny tiny link in there next to a sentence about topics.

Pruners, hiding topics is under customise, and options are the same whichever version you're in eg new or classic. When you press save, it won't take you back to where you were, but your changes should have been stored. Would you mind trying again and letting me know what happens? thanks

No, not at all. I think we're going to tweak design of the customise page to make it a bit clearer.
