You could send us a message although if you are friends with other MNers that we know (which you are ) then it's ok

OK, I propose this.

We get a membership request. The first mod to come across the request sends a message to the person who wants to join to double check their MN name, and copies in the other mods (so we know it's been dealt with). Once the MN name has been confirmed, we then accept the request.

Sound OK?

That may be because it's a closed group so you can't see any info unless you are a member

There isn't anywhere to put a message, I have applied to join, then cancelled it in case I missed the message box then applied to join again.
