I've just seen an auto glass ad - didn't see the effect/affect bit BUT.... dire misuse of commas and beginning a sentence with 'and' -

'And, we can ....'

LOL - sorry, the one I saw definitely said 'affecting' but there are often several versions ... I'll keep a look out and promise to be suitably OUTRAGED.

Indeed. Let's all boycott Autoglass. I mean, if the person who specialises in wording their adverts isn't up to the job, would you want to trust their glass? I think not.

MNHQ have nothing to do with the content of the ads. Why don't you pop down to your local Autoglass and have a word with the man behind the counter? I am sure he'll think you're perfectly reasonable and sane and normal.
