If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

True, I hadn't spotted the double brackets trick, and couldn't be arsed coding in html.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 22:28

lol northern!

Jeezum, you're going to really miss those camels, huh?

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 22:28

I'm shit at entertainment section of Trivial Pursuit. That's why I chose DP really. He's 20% of a boyband.

Bumperslucious · 29/12/2008 22:30

Evening all, we're still here then? Hope someone's got some rations, tinned foods, some blankets, bottled water? Looks like we're in for the long haul.

Awww thanks Quattro I didn't think anyone would remember me!

('cept PW who I keep meaning to email, but am now paranoid it would seem like a micro-club and lead to Marxist (Groucho) unresponsive; not caring to belong to any club that will have me as a member, sort of thing).

I have to say though, that I did search for the kid going past the pub, disgusted at it being closed thread.. and somehow came across OBM's thread requesting Wankers Corner. Oh, all this I have missed and more. I should maybe dip a toe back in to the waters...

Lone Parents section still here?

MrJustAbout · 29/12/2008 22:31

Yeah rebel - I'd use it chortle too in text but wouldn't say it. Partly, because I've never bothered to find out whether the "h" sounds or not.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 22:31

(did you see MrJustabout accidentally revealing the fact that, should he have been arsed, he could have coded 'the pub! the pub!' )

NorthernLurker · 29/12/2008 22:33

Well thanks a lot Rev - I've just waved good bye to my camels - taken away from my bosom on a lorry - destination unknown. Managed to hang on to the kitchenaid though - said it was my only link to the real world.

Wankers Corner is a floating thread which occasionally is revived, winestein (I remember you vividly btw )

By wankers, obv. Even those in denial are welcome, though, and the more, the very much merrier.

Ah well - bar keeper's friend
(or was that for the jam welded onto my oven?...)

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 22:35

"Do you know HTML? MrJustabout, you have hidden these talents from me."

LOL is he exagerrating unclear about his actual talents, in front of the ladeez, rev?

NorthernLurker · 29/12/2008 22:35

Bumpersluscious - yes I've got some tinned sausages here but I'm waiting till you're all really, really hungry because I can't go though the debate about is it ethically sourced etc again.

IorekByrnison · 29/12/2008 22:35

You are all very funny.

I'm feeling the need to throw in my tiny say on all this as I was away over Christmas and missed most of it. The thing I don't quite like is that the moldies site - if I've understood it rightly - was set up during the Gina Ford crisis as a sort of emergency bunker. It really strikes me as quite unseemly for a few mumsnetters to open up this bunker later on for the sake of shutting out the hoi polloi. What if we have another emergency? Where will we go then? The image of the pigs on two legs at the end of Animal Farm keeps popping into my mind.

Mostly though I am ashamed to say that I am quite titillated by the whole saga.

StealthPoHoHoHo · 29/12/2008 22:35

ah sorry doodle so it's still there?

FrannyandZooey · 29/12/2008 22:35

Are you accusing me of camel negelct rev?

I'll have you know they were terribly happy in the back garden. There was a little shed and some boden blankets and a MANGER (nicked from Church ) Now their gone - and all because of my reckless gambling habit. It's nearly as bad as when I lost the choir boys on an outing to Scarborough.

I was sure my number would come up but no.....that took a bit of explaininng tbh.

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 22:39

Wankers' Corner should be nominated for Mumsnet classics.

IorekByrnison · 29/12/2008 22:39

Oh I'm glad someone mentioned Wankers Corner. I am in the process of setting up a new forum to be entitled MN Wankies. Invitation only, naturally. Members may nominate mumsnet friends, but all nominees must complete a 10,000 word essay on public v private relations in the internet age, to include credible references to Bentham, Nietzsche and the facial hair of the great philosophers. Who's in?
