Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

Now I now thats something I can beat onebat on

ones we do are I suspect a little larger

morningpaper · 23/12/2008 23:14

WTF is a moldie?

I fear this post may have tipped me over the edge

Yes, wrap the stocking presents you slut. UNWRAPPED and you may as well just leave them in the carrier bag

NotanOtter · 23/12/2008 23:14

wrapping stocking gifts is a wrap too far

holidaywonk · 23/12/2008 23:14

I've just wrapped all the stocking presents. Taking care to remove all 'Made in China' labels, because DS1 found one last year and has been puzzled about Father Christmas's import/export policy ever since.

dontcallmehon · 23/12/2008 23:14

Ok, but tis hard to join in in the middle of a conversation.

NotanOtter · 23/12/2008 23:14

we differ MP!

lou33 · 23/12/2008 23:14

i cheated on the stocking front this year and bought ready filled ones from hawkins bazaar

NotanOtter · 23/12/2008 23:15

never heard of them being wrapped

cant wrap a tangerine

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 23/12/2008 23:15

Thanks Pol. It's certainly been a day of magical fun and unexpected Christmas surprises [tired grin]

hunkermunker · 23/12/2008 23:15

Don't wrap stocking presents in the same paper you've wrapped anything else in though, or you run the risk of "Mummy, does Father Christmas buy his wrapping paper in Boots/WHSmiths/other stores are available just like you do?" pointed questions.

Quattrocento · 23/12/2008 23:15

Stocking presents definitely don't need to be wrapped. Most definitely. Final word. I'm at the stage of wondering if christmas presents need to be wrapped.

Hulababy · 23/12/2008 23:15

dontcallmehon - bnut that is half the fun on MN; just jumping in with the chat, you dpn't need the rest of the thread, the last few posts are enough.

cornsilk · 23/12/2008 23:16

oooh I've not got stockings for my ds's. Oh well they're used to my slovenly parenting by now.

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 23/12/2008 23:16

onebat you make this tableaux from cinnamon and I might be impressed

stocking gifdts unwrapped here. definitely

ilovelovemydog · 23/12/2008 23:16

almond roca: (marks and spencer's voice over) not just almond.... but soft when you bite.... hmmm... lovely toffee center... and when you suck, it just ooozes toffee and almond...

Hulababy · 23/12/2008 23:17

We don;t have stockings no no idea if wrapped or not. I hae wraped all of DDs pressies thouh inc the smaller ones. They are under the tree. Just need to put the darn digital piano surround together it si so heavy and I have to get it upstairs yet!

lou33 · 23/12/2008 23:17

quattro, i wondered that too, and contemplated just putting them all in a big sack to pull out at random instead

Tinker · 23/12/2008 23:17

3 1/2 is too young to realise this isn't it????

NotanOtter · 23/12/2008 23:17

i just chuck my credit card at my six

christmas day is mostly me pissed and asleep and them happy as larry on amazon

holidaywonk · 23/12/2008 23:17

Oh yes hunker, I take care to buy special FC wrapping paper. I squawked at DP last year for wrapping an FC gift in non-FC paper. He thought I was completely barmy.

dontcallmehon · 23/12/2008 23:17

It is very fast moving though and hard to get noticed. I am a bit shy, seems you have to be bolshy on MN!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 23/12/2008 23:18

cornsilk - my DS's don't either, infact I think only DS1 has ever had a stocking once, Ds2 and 3 have never had one

Oh - but if they did would never wrap the pesents, gawd I rememer the fun of tipping the contents of my stocking out over the bed at about 4am (my mum used to put our stockingon the end of the bed) and diving striaght in,

Besides, going to have enough mess from wrapping paper to clear up as it is without extras

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 23/12/2008 23:18

ones we do are I suspect a little larger

Ooooh no, peachy. Do you .. do...

tableaux vivantes>?>??????

VanessaParody · 23/12/2008 23:19

onebat - we wrap stocking presents, in paper not used for any other presents. I am definitely 'reacting' to my slapdash mother.

effie - glad you're ready and v. best of luck for the birth.
