Please can 'Thread I'm on' update itself with any threads I've been on in the past, when people add message?

If that makes sense,

Threads I'm on disappear from 'Threads I'm on' after a certain period, which is fine, but if someone adds a message after this time it would be great if it appears again on that page. I sometimes have to search for stuff again to see if I've had any late replies.

It's a bit of a pain and I keep missing messages, which by the time I discover and reply the thread has gone from the poster's TIO page!

I would love this too.

bitofadramaqueen · 18/11/2008 13:48

Me too. Have been away for a long weekend and it was a real pain searching out any threads I had been on.

egypt · 18/11/2008 14:08

glad it's not just me....

tech you out there boy!?!?

oh yes - definitely a good idea. I often find I have a long thread that I've started, go to update on on it and it's not on threads I'm on, or threads I started - so end up starting an "update" thread.

I'm sure I've missed a lot of updates and continuation of threads.

Flightattendant4 · 18/11/2008 15:52

And while we're discussing it, would it be possible to erase certain threads you're on - I get a long list and some I just want to forget about or have stopped being answered days ago.
It would be great to be able to choose which to keep on your list of 'threads I'm on'

although I have just realised perhaps the watch option would work for me in this respect.

egypt · 18/11/2008 23:33

good idea FA4. would be good to have that open on TIO aswell though.

OP posts:

well, they could all disappear after a few days as default now, but only the ones where further posts are added after that time reappear. so that would cover your wanting to erase ones that you want to or haven't been answered. that's what happens now.

OP posts:
egypt · 18/11/2008 23:37

oh i see! you may want to erase ones which still have ongoing dicussions?! sorry, i geddit!

OP posts:
Flightattendant4 · 19/11/2008 06:47

Yes that's it - but it would be nice if they were on the page in order of response, ie if someone had answered recently it came back to the top f the page.

So it would be threads you've had a reply on in the last 5 days or whatever, rather than that you had been on yourself.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/11/2008 06:56

I'd quite like this for threads I started, but not for threads I'm on, or I'd have hundreds of threads sometimes, which would then be a problem as it's capped at showing you the last 51 threads that you were on - a limit that is often exceeded already.

egypt · 19/11/2008 12:28

perhaps you could select the ones you want update notifications of then. I'm only on a few.

yes flightattendant, that's it, it would be threads people have added to that you are also on not ones that you have added to only.

basically if the thread that you are on is still getting posts, no matter how long ago you posted on it, it remains visible.

COME ON TECH! TIS EASY [GRIN]

I think I was about to ask for the same thing - I'd like an option for 'threads I'm on' to order themselves according to the most recent post (by anyone), not which thread I posted on most recently.

So if something gets added to a thread after a long time it will reappear.

Thanks!

egypt · 24/11/2008 03:01

think they are ignoring us

Hi Egypt it does make sense, and we've added it to tech's To Do list - but the list is quite long, so it may be a little while before we get to it.

egypt · 27/11/2008 03:29

aawwwww, thank you

But isn't this what "threads I'm watching" is for? They update when anything new is put on it.

However, I end up with a massive list of "threads I'm watching". What I'd like to be able to do is select 10 at a time and then delete them all together, rather than having to delete them individually.

What do you think????? It just needs a tick box thingy at the end of each one and then you could choose to "remove" "refresh" etc.
