Come and tell me why this wouldn't work....

There have been quite a few threads recently about people wishing they hadn't divulged quite so much personal info, and worrying that it could lead to them being identified in RL.

Somebody said that they'd asked MN to delete all their posts but MN were reluctant as it would mean that a lot of threads wouldn't make sense.

Well, how about just deleting the name of the person posting, and leaving the actual post in-situ?

Brian not working well today so there are probably loads of reasons this wouldn't work, but what are they?

PSML at Brian!

I tkae it you mean Brain?

I guess it could work but, if the info is that personal then surley the person in question could still be intentified with or without a name?

Mmm, good point.
I've probably been coming at this from the angle of your username becoming known and somebody looking up that name.
