OK, how about some kind of score / table where you can see just how bad your addiction is, compared to the rest of the MNers on here ?

Would that be too scary ?

Most Posts in Last 24 hours
Most regular poster over last 6 months
etc.

If the idea of publishing them seems simply too horrid, maybe you could see your stats / 'score' only when logged in rather than on a public page ?

Is posting the only measure of addiction? How would you rate, "Is incapable of walking past a computer without logging on to mn, just to see what's going on?" (Guilty...)

what do you do? add current messages to archived messages?

Current messages are included in archieved messages from what I could gather. I certainly had the same posts appear on both.

The level of addiction should also be measured by the amount of time spent lurking, even when I'm not posting...I'm still here......always here......

Most posts in one hour. Ever.

Record for number of threads killed (your name is last in thread)

Volume of messages (by number, by kilobyte of textual data)

Greatest thread launcher (number of posts attracted to a thread you launched)

Most nocturnal (threads between midnight and 6AM excluding offshore)

Most Diverse (max number of different topic areas posted to in 24 hour period)

etc.

When you get home after a day out, what's the first thing you check:

or your telephone answering machine / 1571 ?

I'm not addicted. I can take it or leave it. Not a problem. I can handle it. Could give it up tomorrow if I wanted. It's not a big part of my life at all. I don't need it.
