At the top of the email from MNHQ, you say...

To unsubscribe, reply to this email with the word unsubscribe in the first line of your reply. If you wish to contact Mumsnet, send your mail to [email protected]. Don't reply to this email - we may not see your message.

slight contradiction?

maybe they don't want you to unsubscribe...

gigglewitch · 01/08/2008 21:33

obviously not. the doors are locked

well I would say...what they mean is, you want to unsubscribe, reply with the word unsubscribe. You want to have a natter or somefink else, then send it to the contact us address but don't send a nattering email as a reply to this one because we only really look at this address for unsubscribing.

Once yer in, yer in.

Bwhahaha etc.

YetMoreTech · 01/08/2008 21:45

No contradiction, though I suppose it could be worded differently.

oi has it almost right. The point is, nobody looks at an email sent by replying to the newsletter or talk round up - the unsubscribe ones are processed automagically. But that automagic doesn't extend to entering in to a polite conversation. If you want one of those, you need to email contactus.
