Why can't I hide Mumsnet Local threads?

The hide button is there and I've clicked on it but the threads still sit at the top of active convos. Tis very annoying.

I knew I couldn't be the only one with this problem...agree it is irritating.

Can anything be done?

Why and for how long are they stuck at the top?

I won't ever go on them again. It's very annoying.

I'm sure they go after a few minutes, don't they?

I don't have this. I wonder if it is because I haven't given them a UK postcode... try removing your post code or part of your address and it may work?

I have this and it's only started doing it recently. But it is the one i post on that is on mine (wakefield) so thought that was why

They have only very recently started to stay at the top - and only for a few minutes really.

There's only one which is your own area afaik. Don't get why it's annoying you so much tbh.

I think ours stays at the top for an hour

No other areas ever come up on mine though just my one.

I think this is deliberate as people complained that the local threads were very quiet and I think you had to go into mumsnet local to post on them before.

We were on a meet up thread and kept been told by MNHQ to use our local site.

I think they stay for about an hour, but you only see them stuck at the top if you are in the same (selected it) MN local group.

So I can't see any ATM if that helps

It's gone. Would put me off posting on there tbh, knowing it was going to be stuck at the top of active convos for an hour.
