There is a thread about AI rules
I suggested 30 AI rules
My post was deleted for breaking talk guidelines
Please explain why?
Proposed additional Mumsnet rules on AI use
You may use AI to check spelling and grammar, but must declare this if the corrections substantially improve the quality of your post.
You must not use AI to analyse a poster's contributions over an extended period, even if all the posts are publicly available.
You may use AI to help organise your thoughts, but must ensure the thoughts were entirely your own before organising them.
You may use AI to research factual information, but must not use AI to help explain that information to other posters.
You may use a search engine to find information, but must declare if an AI-generated summary appeared in the search results.
You must not use AI to analyse a poster's contributions to a thread to establish how often they addressed the subject under discussion rather than going off-topic.
You may quote information from websites, but must first establish whether the website's author used AI.
You may use AI to understand a complicated post, but must not use AI to formulate your reply once you understand it.
You must not use AI to help create an amusing reply, even if the humour is relevant to the original discussion.
You must not use AI to construct a timeline of a discussion, including how the arguments developed and whether particular incidents changed its direction.
You may ask AI to explain an unfamiliar concept, but must not allow that explanation to influence the wording of your response.
You may use AI to identify flaws in an argument, but must independently rediscover those flaws before mentioning them.
You must not use AI to organise posts and replies into a searchable record that allows questions about who responded to whom and when.
You may use AI to suggest questions, but must not ask those questions unless you can prove you would have thought of them yourself.
You may use AI to generate ideas for humour, but all jokes must be independently certified as human in origin.
AI-generated images must not be posted, even when they are satirical, relevant to the discussion or created under human direction.
You must not use AI to examine accusations made during a discussion to establish who made them, what evidence was offered and whether that evidence was subsequently provided.
You may use AI to improve clarity, but must not make your writing so clear that other posters suspect AI involvement.
You must not use AI to identify recurring patterns in exchanges between posters, including similarities in language or the frequency with which particular posters respond to one another.
You may write lengthy posts without AI, but must not use AI to make lengthy posts shorter, except as permitted under Rule 2.
You may disagree with another poster, but must not use AI to help you understand their position before disagreeing.
You may express opinions that resemble AI-generated opinions, but must be prepared to demonstrate independent human ownership of those opinions.
You must not use AI to examine the available record of a deleted discussion to consider whether the stated reasons for its removal are consistent with the Talk Guidelines.
You may use phrases commonly associated with AI, such as “It's important to note”, but must declare whether you thought of them independently.
You may accuse another poster of using AI, but must specify whether AI assisted you in identifying the alleged AI use.
You must not use AI to analyse television or radio programmes, even if doing so helps you develop new interpretations of characters and plots for discussion on Telly Addicts or Radio Addicts.
You must not use AI to help compose a message asking MNHQ to clarify why your posts were considered to breach the Talk Guidelines.
You may have a longstanding posting history, but this will not constitute proof that you are human if your writing appears suspiciously coherent.
You must not use AI to create a summary table of your contributions to a thread/
You may deny using AI, but the denial itself may be treated as evidence of AI use if it sounds sufficiently convincing.
You may discuss the merits and disadvantages of AI on Mumsnet, but must not use AI to help formulate an argument about the merits and disadvantages of AI.
