Random auto scrolling again

Random auto scrolling seems to have returned.

I'm not quite sure how to screen record but when I work it out I will try and do it next time I see it.
I have no idea if there's a button I pressed by accident, if there is please let me know so I can avoid it!

Sorry this seems to have made a reappearance. We’d like to get to the bottom of what’s causing it.

If you spot it happening again, could you let us know a few things?

• Does the page suddenly jump to a different part of the thread, or does it continuously scroll by itself?
• Does it tend to happen while you’re reading, typing a reply, or after you’ve tapped or swiped something?
• Have you noticed whether it happens on particular threads/pages, or seemingly at random?

We can see that you're using an older version of Android. Some phones running this version have a built in screen recorder and some don't, so please don't worry if you can't find the option on yours. If you swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel, you can have a look for an option called Screen recorder or Screen recording. If it isn't there, there's no need to install anything especially for this.

A screen recording would be really useful if you're able to get one, but if not, just make a note of what you were doing immediately before the scrolling started and roughly where on the page it happened. That should still give us something to work with.

Hi there, it happened when I'd first clicked onto a thread and it was quite slow continuous scrolling. It happened on two different threads this morning. They weren't ones I'd bookmarked/was watching so I was just starting at the top of the thread.

I think my Android is up to date: it says version 17, updated 5th Sept 2026.
