Can MNHQ confirm whether or not you can read PMs?

Well I thought they could too, but someone challenged me on that so I thought I should double check.

TBH, I've always written any PMs with the view that MNHQ could read them if they so wished, so it wouldn't be an issue for me if they can!

They can of course or people would use PMs to attack others.

I suspect that, like the rest of the site, they depend on personal reporting. So they can read PMs but do not routinely do so. I’ve reported a couple of messages over the many years I’ve been here, which MNHQ then deleted and I never heard from those posters again.

Yes I think that's right. As with visible posts (rather than PMs) anything that is an attack/offensive will only get deleted if it gets reported.

Hello @BIWI we can read PMs, but our policy is to leave them alone unless they're reported to us. Frankly we've enough to be getting on with.
