Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. We're looking into this now and will have these adverts blocked as soon as possible.

Thanks Lily. Just glad they’re clothed to be fair!

Hi @sunshinebelieve (and @Daftapath , @Quincy2381 ). Thanks for flagging, and sorry you saw this. That ad absolutely shouldn't be running on Mumsnet.
We've tracked it down and blocked it, so it shouldn't appear again. It can take a few hours for the block to fully take effect, so apologies if it pops up once or twice more in the meantime.
If you do see it again after that, or spot anything else inappropriate, please post here or report it with a screenshot (the time and the page you were on really help us track it down). Thanks again for letting us know.

They’re still appearing today

BorgQueen · 10/10/2026 15:33

That bloody Ann Summers one is horrible too.
A dripping mouth? Really? It’s vile.

Hi @RoseInBloome7

Thanks for letting us know, and sorry you're still seeing these. We've blocked the ads we've identified, but your phone may still be holding on to older ads it saved earlier. Clearing that out should help:

If you use the Mumsnet app on iPhone:

  1. Press and hold the Mumsnet app icon, then tap Remove App > Delete App
  2. Reinstall it from the App Store and log back in
(iPhone doesn't let you clear an app's cache on its own, so reinstalling is the most reliable way to do it.)

If you use the Mumsnet app on Android:
Go to Settings > Apps > Mumsnet > Storage > Clear cache

If you browse Mumsnet in Safari:
Go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data (on older iPhones it's Settings > Safari)

@BorgQueen, thanks for flagging the Ann Summers ad as well. We're looking into it.

If you still see anything similar afterwards, please post a screenshot here along with roughly what time you saw it and which thread you were on. That helps us track down the specific advertiser and block it.

Thanks for bearing with us.

I started a thread about this ad back in August.
MN agreed it was inappropriate and supposedly blocked or took some action to stop it appearing. When I still kept getting the ad on virtually every thread I was told it was basically my fault because of my search history.
Now every time it appears I click the wee blue triangle thing in the very top right corner to report it to Google. Doesn't seem to be doing any good though.

Hi @Usernamesalltakenblues , thanks for flagging this again.
Advertisers keep creating new ads and accounts, so even when we block one, another version can sometimes get through. We're in regular contact with our ad partners about it and are working to stop it. Reporting it via the blue triangle helps too, so please keep doing that.
Could you let us know if you're seeing it on desktop, a mobile browser or the app? A screenshot with the time and thread would also help us track it down.
Thanks!

@MaxSMumsnet
Thanks for your message.
Since you posted it I've not seen the advert again! Which is a blessed relief because it was appearing on every thread I looked at for weeks.
If it does reappear I will screenshot it as requested. I use Samsung Internet browser on my phone to view the website.
Thanks.

Keep seeing this one:

Hi @whippersnapper55 , thanks for posting the screenshot, and sorry you keep seeing this one.
Next time it pops up, could you tap the ad and paste the URL it takes you to here? That helps us identify the exact advertiser and block it.
Thanks!

jiskoot · 16/10/2026 17:39

I've just had it in this post, it takes you to the app store, see screen shot

Hi @jiskoot ,
Thanks for posting the screenshot, that's really helpful. Sorry you were sent off to the app store. Ads shouldn't take you anywhere unless you've tapped on them, and this one shouldn't have been showing on Mumsnet in the first place. We've now blocked it.
If you see it again, or anything similar, could you let us know:

  • which device and browser you're using (e.g. Chrome or the Mumsnet app)
  • roughly which thread you were on
  • whether it redirected on its own or after you tapped something

Thanks again for flagging it.
