OMG ads again

The H&M advert is infuriating. It runs too quickly for you to close it. It runs too quickly to use the hide button. It’s just awful. Can we please get rid of it?

and we only just got rid of that M&S one that opens right in the middle of what you’re reading.

Okay, I finally saw an X button on one display but it was only on one…

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi @EmeraldRoulette EmeraldRoulette, sorry you're having this, thanks for flagging it.

A couple of things that would help us pin it down. Is the H&M one always in the same place on the page, or does it move around? And when you say it runs too quickly to close, is the ad itself refreshing, or is the whole slot changing while you read?

If you can also tell us your device and browser, whether you were logged in, and add a screenshot of it on the page, that gives us enough to chase it with the ad partner.

It stays at the top of the screen, but it runs so quickly, it doesn't have an x on it most of the time

I really hate video ads - there's normally a way to stop the moving or just cancel them but I suspect this is one that you're just running that you're okay with

It's not crashing the screen which is progress

The M&S one that arrived right in the middle of the screen and you can't avoid clicking it - that's even more annoying

Sorry, I was mostly just having a rant but I suppose we can't opt out out of video adverts can we?

The one at the top of the screen should always have a close button on it. If it's only appearing sometimes on your iPad then something isn't working properly, and we're getting that looked at.

The M&S one that opens mid-page is the one we want to track down. If you see it again, a screenshot and rough time would help us find it.

And no need to apologise for the rant, we'd rather know.
