Could Mumsnet add a disagree button alongside the current reaction options?

Can we have a disagree button please?

This is Mumsnet after all so I don’t understand why buttons are limited to Thanks, Agree, Love & Support. The most innocuous topic can turn into a bunfight on here so why not give us a disagree button? I don’t always have time or energy to quote and then explain to a poster why I disagree with them. Also as a poster it would be equally useful to know that someone disagreed with me as agreed with me.

Hi @KellyMumsnet i was interested in this that you said, and we felt that it seemed a bit negative, when some people are being verbally nasty to a distressed woman, do you find that a bit negative too?

Kelly I think thay stance would make sense if the responses were not often deeply negative, but they are, if those responses don’t put people off posting, I can’t see how a thumbs down would. As the responses are by far the greater evil.

it may even encourage some people not to post their horrific thoughts.

That could have been interesting in the 'willy mark' thread...
