Bookmarks on one thread not working

My bookmarks on this thread:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5560313-uk-radical-feminists-what-to-do?reply=153928105

... aren't working. They're working on all the other threads I'm on though, which is weird.

Desktop site, MacBook, and using Brave browser. However, I've just checked Safari and they're not working on that browser either.

So there was a question earlier today in one of my groups about TERFs in the UK, why are they so strong there, etc. Let me elaborate on something....

Hi @BIWI,

We aim to respond within 24 hours, so thanks for bearing with us.

We've taken a look into this and can't see any issues on our side. Is there any chance you've bookmarked the following URL in your browser and are using that to revisit the thread? Or is the URL you shared in your search bar and you're refreshing the page?

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5560313-uk-radical-feminists-what-to-do?reply=153928105

The reason we ask is that this URL links to a specific post by RedToothBrush. If you're visiting that link, it will always take you to that post, rather than to the place you've bookmarked.

If you try visiting the thread using the following URL instead, does it take you to the post you bookmarked?

I know how to bookmark threads @AmeliaPMumsnet Hmm

And no, that URL doesn't take me to where I've bookmarked the thread. It just takes me to the end of the thread. (Which is what is happening each time).

I suppose it's a fairly moot point given the thread looks like it will soon reach its 1000 post mark.

It's just very odd that it's only on this thread that it's happening.

Thanks for confirming @BIWI! We just wanted to check, as we know some people bookmark thread URLs in their browser, which can cause issues when returning to a thread.

Can we just check how you're accessing the thread? Are you getting to it via a list such as Watching or I'm On, or are you opening it from a notification?

BIWI · 04/08/2026 10:51

I'm using 'I'm On'

Brill, thanks for letting me know @BIWI.

Can we just check which part of the thread you're clicking on when you access it from your I'm On list? I've attached a screenshot of this thread from my own list.

Are you selecting the thread title (1), or one of the posts underneath (2)?

The thread title.

Thank you @BIWI!

Would it be possible for you to take a screen recording of yourself clicking on the thread from your I'm On list and then arriving at the thread? As we haven't been able to recreate the issue on our side, it would be really helpful to see it in action so I can share it with the team. Could you also let us know which post you're trying to bookmark?

If you need any help working out how to screen record, just let us know and we can send you some instructions. If you're able to email the screen recording to [email protected], that would be brilliant.

BIWI · 04/08/2026 14:23

Yes, if you could send me instructions that would be great.

@BIWI If you're using a Mac, you can make a screen recording by doing the following:

  • Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 5 on your keyboard.
  • A toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  • Choose either Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion, depending on what you'd like to show.
  • Click Record to start.
  • When you're finished, click the Stop button in the menu bar at the top of the screen (or press Command + Control + Esc).
  • Your recording will automatically save to your desktop by default.

You should then be able to attach it to an email and send it in. Thank you as this would be really useful 🙏

BIWI · 06/08/2026 14:36

Hi @AmeliaPMumsnet - I've done a screen recording, and hopefully you'll have received it. I had problems initially with the file size.

Thank you very much @BIWI! All received. I'll share this with the team and will post back here with any updates.

Thanks for your patience.
