Thread titles no longer changing colour after opening

Is this a new thing or is it just happening to me? On any board the titles of threads used to change colour after I'd opened them, but now they're all the same colour

The thread titles are still changing colour for me (screenshot of "Active" attached, after I clicked on this thread then clicked back.)

Thank you, looks like it's just me then maybe. I've opened all these threads and they're all still blue

Hi @PatNoodle ,

Thanks for getting in touch. Could you please let us know what browser you're using to access Mumsnet?

Thanks!

BIWI · 22/07/2026 16:06

That happened to me earlier, but it seems to have rectified itself. (I was using Brave)

LittleGreenDragons · 22/07/2026 17:09

Mine has been like that for a while. It only changes to a different colour if I keep the thread open in a different tab. Very annoying and one reason why I changed browser (which didn't help).

Edit
I've also got that problem back where the text box doesn't clear after posting.

I use Safari on my iPad and mine don't change colour. I don't think they have done for a long time.

Edit to add: I just checked and when I'm on 'Active' view they change colour, but I'm usually looking at 'Last Hour' and in that view they don't seem to change.

Hi @PatNoodle ,

I was using chrome on a desktop earlier, I’m now using chrome on an iPhone and it’s still doing the same

I often get this too. Duck duck go on android. Having a window still open might explain why some do change colour.

BIWI · 23/07/2026 09:11

I think it's an issue with DuckDuckGo, tbh. There are several things that don't work on MN if you use that browser. That's why I switched to Brave.

AmeliaPMumsnet · 23/07/2026 09:27

Hi all,

We're going to take a look into this. In the meantime, for those of you using DuckDuckGo or Brave, these browsers are designed to block tracking, which can mean that active links don't always change colour consistently.

Unfortunately, that's not something we have any control over, and you may also find that other parts of the site don't work quite as expected when using these browsers.

BalakayAARon · 23/07/2026 09:33

I switched to DDG because I was having more problems with Chrome and Samsung Internet. Back to the drawing board.

Mine has been like this for ages, I’m on the iOS app

Could you please let us know what version of the iOS app you're using? You can check this by opening the app and selecting the profile menu in the top right hand corner. You should then see the app version at the bottom of the menu.

Thank you!
