Live chat adverts?

Why are posts having ‘live chat 24 hour’ adverts in them, with pictures of young women laying down in little clothing? Surely there are more appropriate companies that wish to advertise on Mumsnet?

That’s horrible. I got Japanese porn adverts when I was in Japan a few weeks ago. Naked tits everywhere. Covered in white liquid as well. 🤮 Had to close MN down in the end. My six year old was sitting next to me, it was beyond inappropriate. I thought MN used the Google ads network but that forbids adult content afaik.

AnonymityAnonymity · 09/07/2026 06:31

There have been threads on here complaining about these ads in the past.
Totally inappropriate.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

are you able to show a screenshot of these ads next time?

It really helps us track down and block these ads. We use image search.

They are mis categorised by Google and slip through, which is a real pain! We block dating apps/sites and of course anything pornographic.

thanks in advance

This was on the princess party favours thread this morning. This is the ad I keep seeing.

Also have the same ad as posted above

TY78910 · 11/07/2026 20:41

Ugh I read this yesterday and this popped up today on a thread about hosepipe bans 🫠

redlorryyello · 11/07/2026 21:32

I had this the other night when I was reading the thread about the bridesmaid and the lead singer of the wedding band behind the toilets. I thought it might have been because of the thread I was on; it definitely wasn’t linked to any of my other browsing history.

i had to step away for a few days and they did eventually go away.

Hairyfairy01 · 11/07/2026 21:51

I wish they would go away, its even popped up on this thread!

It’s funny that my screenshot image is still under review - clearly their filter picked up on the nature of the ad, but the ad itself is allowed 🤣

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the delay here...

@TY78910 sadly we can't block specific images nor does Google allow us to block proactively these ads... they are mis-categorised as "General"

Unlike on Web we are unable to block look-a-like, so it's often a whack-a-mole job!

I've only found one ad that I could find/search, so I wonder if these have gone or reduced?

Please let me know if thay haven't!

Thanks

EDIT:
I made a few blocks on the 14th as seen in this thread. Hoping this has covered these as well!

To be fair I haven’t noticed any in a few days, and there used to be an awful lot of them

@Hairyfairy01

Glad to hear! If they slip through again, please let us know!
